Well it is, but ask me again in 53 weeks and you might get a different answer.

Bike thieves.

Three mountain bikes stolen from my garden shed night before last.

Not particularly valuable but replacing them by insurance may well end up costing me more in premiums next year.

fecking c*nts.

im on my third bike since being in London. never bothered with insurance, not sure who are the biggest c*nts!?

couldnt work out why everyone was riding round on absolute wrecks at first, its pretty obvious now. there is no point having a nice bike in London, it will just walk. no amount of locks or bike sheds or cctv seem to deter them. my trouble is im a bit too much of a bike snob and although this current one was pretty cheap, ive ended up pimping it a fair bit. it'll be gone soon no doubt...

I left it deliberately ambiguous.

Problem is now it's reported my insurance will go up whether I claim or not. I have a replacement policy on my contents insurance but will only get replacement bikes if I use their own bike store.

If I don't I'll be offered a cash value minus my 'voluntary' excess (£200) and wear and tear on the bikes.

I also need to find three receipts for their purchase from up to 4 years ago.

Really don't need the grief right now.

I posted a while back 're things to do if your bike is stolen'; which can be found at lfgss.co.uk Also bikeregister.com is a great resource and is supported by the met. It's a kick in the teeth having a bike nicked when out and about, but having three nicked from your shed is a real kick in the balls. I hope they catch the f8ckers and make 'em eat spokes for the rest of their lives.

Lass at work, known & liked her for years but always been mildly irritated at her sick record. Often a bit too quick to throw a sickie and leave the rest of us to pick up her work.

Any road her mum was taken seriously ill a while back. Everyone felt for her and we were all rallying round seeing if she needed help & stuff. She was in a bit of a state and went off sick with stress. Since then, her mums improved and is now out of danger. This was 8 weeks ago and daughters still off

Today I came across one of her immediate colleagues - in tears - struggling to stay afloat with all the excess work she's trying to cope with - genuine stress you might say, while tilly floss keeps chuckin sick notes in

Whilst, of course, there may be more to it...... ah, bllx, why am I bullshitting .... these types are the bane of my life and the sort of case which needs sorting ... and quick.

Lair and cheats. No care whatsoever about the people they dump on, nor their employer. Taking sick pay when they aren't makes them no better than thieves ... and will be the first to whinge that they are being unfairly treated, when they are challenged.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

1 of our team of 3 is off with stress at the moment leaving us covering for her. Annoying thing is, it isn't that hard. This person is just the sort who runs around in circles telling everyone near her how much work she has and how busy she is without doing any of it. Also has the attitude that puts the dampener on a place. Without her we're coping fine. No stressing, no whingeing.

Lacking an internet connection for a week or more while my move takes effect. I know, in the grand scheme of things, not a huge deal, but I suffered withdrawal symptoms over the weekend from this place...

Not an uncommon tale. It needs a senior able to sit her down and have a 'full and frank' with her. This needn't be an aggressive discussion ... but needs to be honest and also to hear her position so it can all be aired. But it'd be the norm for people to avoid the discussion and suffer on.

It won't get better unless it's addressed though ... and people will get increasingly pissed with her.

So did we all - it wasn't working for any of us.

Couldn't agree with you more, bobo. Over my years as a banker I worked with many hundreds of colleagues and managed a couple of hundreds as their boss. Perhaps I was lucky as I came across only one who was seriously problematic. Remember the days of the RSI plague? She was one of them. Oh the dramas, the interfering mother, the tears! If it had been my business she would have been out the door with pay in lieu of notice. Unfortunately that was not my prerogative so her case was referred to the Staff Department. What a load of wimps infested that area. I don't mind Staff Departments trying to help someone in trouble but this became ridiculous to the point that it was upsetting the genuine and hard working staff I had.

You know, I cannot remember her name nor what happened to her. I am though pretty sure that 'mummy' was trying to set up some sort of compensation claim. Arseholes!

I've always been more the Hezbollah wing of HR myself. :box:
