Re: What are you watching tonight?
Went to see Lovelace last night, really good film, interesting and unsettling. solid performances from both leads, Sarsgaard is a creepy frigger anyway! Sharon Stone unrecognisable! only thing is, as you do when you're about to watch a biopic, you do a bit of reading up - i do anyway. cor blimey, the film was grim enough but it doesnt scratch the surface of the full extent of the abuse she suffered.

A Spanish film from 1976. Cria Cuervos - Ravens Breeding - is a chirpy film about a young girl's obsession with death, after seeing both her mother and father die.
I don't think it's a comedy. I've had it or ages and really should watch or send it back to LF.

Saw a bit of Jack Reacher earlier this week. I reckon if they make a sequel it should be callled Jack Reacher: Round 2.

If they make a sequel, they need to employ a bigger actor, and maybe title it 'Jack Reacher Grows Up'Beefheart wrote:Saw a bit of Jack Reacher earlier this week. I reckon if they make a sequel it should be callled Jack Reacher: Round 2.

I'm detecting a most splendid play on words in Beefy's suggested title, Spotty.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:If they make a sequel, they need to employ a bigger actor, and maybe title it 'Jack Reacher Grows Up'Beefheart wrote:Saw a bit of Jack Reacher earlier this week. Skyfall is ok.....Reacher is ok, but I don't like Cruise as Reacher.....TANGODANCER wrote:Mate lent me Skyfall and Jack Reacher and I watched both last night. Dear, dear.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
Take the names Bond and Reacher out of it and you have two pretty ordinary films. The Bond films are relying almost totally on stunt scenes and whilst Tom Cruise can act he's definitely not for the Reacher role. Rosamund Pike is 5'-8" and she's taller than Cruise who's 5-7". Jack Reacher is 6-5" tall with a 50" chest. That's one big bloke.Annoyed Grunt wrote:Skyfall is ok.....Reacher is ok, but I don't like Cruise as Reacher.....TANGODANCER wrote:Mate lent me Skyfall and Jack Reacher and I watched both last night. Might have to live with Tom Cruise if you want Reacher films though. He's bought the rights to all 17 books.

See I disagree with "Take the Bond name out of Skyfall and its an ordinary film". I've never been a massive fan of the Bond films and thought Skyfall was an excellent stand alone film. Strong plot, great performances from Craig, Bardem and Whishaw and some incredible scenes.

Re: What are you watching tonight?
If you like bags of explosions as your action fine. I thought the stunts were spectacular, but the plot was improbable. I watched it out. As an action film it was all go, but nothing special as a story. Just a personal opinion.hi there, i'm chris wrote:See I disagree with "Take the Bond name out of Skyfall and its an ordinary film". Little gem of a film tonight, 'What Maisie Knew' out now on simultaneous release. Must've had summat in my eye watching it! Dunno whether it's being a parent to a little girl just like Maisie, but its pretty heart melting.
