Ah, Bruce, you should coerce your employer into providing a BMW M3. I read a short review about this car this very morning. Price: $150,000 (that's about 100,000 quids in your money) - spare wheel: none. No, not even a 'temporary' or one of those gooey squirty packs for emergency purposes - NONE, ZERO, ZILCH!
The car is obviously intended for city kerb crawling.

Last time I had a go myself one of the nuts had fused to the alloy (or summat) so I had to call them out anyway.thebish wrote:Bruce Rioja wrote:I have a spare wheel, but I'll be fecked if I'm getting out and changing it when I get a flat.

We're with Green Flag and the last couple of times they've been there in 15 minutes, and on their way five minutes later.

Snowing quite heavily here. I think an early dart is in order on the grounds of heath and safety.

Inspecting my car other day I found no spare wheel but instead a "squirty pack". No idea how these work but sure I could work it out, saves weight I suppose.

Young kid and his mother were on "Flog It" tonight. Brought along a glass case with African spears, shields, masks etc in it, to the auction. The TV experts placed a valuation on it of £200-£400. It went for thirty thousand....

Just watched it on BBC iPlayer. It was only one of the many pieces that was worth the money. An Aboriginal shield that was bought by a museum in Australia. Obviously there was a number of bidders and it just kept going up and up.Bruce Rioja wrote:Bloody hell!!!TANGODANCER wrote:Young kid and his mother were on "Flog It" tonight. I'm not sure which I like best. The one where they think it is worth nothing and is valuable or the smug get who has a piece of art that he thinks is worth thousands and it is a forgery worth next to nothing.

They were apart from the one rare item. The expert thought they were all African as well so if you didn't watch until the very end you wouldn't have known.TANGODANCER wrote:Ah, only walked in in time to get a quick view oof the case and assumed it was African. Hearing on the local grapevine that there was a helcopter down on Bury road this morning. Some sort of accident, must have been serious. Anyone heard anything?

Reading a novel tonight. In it, a woman sees a latin inscription over a doorway and asks the site foreman if he knows what it means. His reply: "Are you kidding, I went to school in Bolton!"

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: General Chit Chat
I went to school in Bolton and ended up doing Latin for 3 years. Saying that I probably wouldn't have been able to translate it as I haven't had much chance to use it in the 27 years since I left.
