I don't think it looks that bad either.
I'd be very surprised if Brucie didn't have some footwear to go with it to be honest...

The BBC are reporting that the Rags, City and Juventus have all placed bids for van Persie.

It is understood City, United and Juve have tabled offers in the region of £15m, but Arsenal are keen to hold out for a fee of £25-30m.

3 reasons off the top of my head.Gooner Girl wrote:And thats funny - why?
a) Cos he's another rat off the sinking ship.
b) Cos you're probably losing him to City. Again.
c) Cos Arsenal expect £30million. For a permacrock with less than 12 months left on his contract.

b) Still rather sell him to City then United as i hate City less and they can pay more
C) Might not get £30 mil but £15 mil is a joke when you compare him with other players who have gone for £15mil - and with a bit of luck he'll spend most of the season at City injured which will serve him right, frankly. He is a permacrook, i agree, this is the one season since we bought him that he has played pretty much all the way through. Its the main reason why i'm not quite as gutted about selling him as i could be. (Though still pissed off!)

Perhaps i phrased that wrongly - I'm not actually wishing him injured, i just won't have any sympathy if he is. He spent 8 or so years with us and was injured about half of every season, we supported him as fans, the club kept paying his ridiculously high wages whilst he warmed his arse on the subs bench, he has one good season then buggers off. So much for loyalty. I wouldn't boo him if he came back to The Emirates with city but he certainly wouldn't get my appalause. i'm disapointed in him and he does not leave with my best wishes for future success. I hope he wins sod all.

As I said...
Besides, if he was as perma-crocked and as average as you're making out, why was he given the captaincy? Because even before last season, he was your stand out player. He could've moved ages ago, but didn't.

After some of the shenanigans around Cahill from these skinflint, potless wonders, I think Garty should ring 'em up with a cheeky £3m bid.

£15m for Van Persie is a joke, especially from a club like City who paid £24m for James Milner. The best strikers in Europe like Cavani, Falcao, Hulk (Although I think he's useless), Lavezzi, Higuain etc., are all going for at least £25m and Van Persie is as good as all of them. I'd only say Falcao and Cavani are on his level. There is the fact he's contract is running out but his value right now is still high. If he hasn't gone in 6 months and they are still looking to sell, that's when his value will decrease. Right now though, he's worth what he's worth and that is around £25m.
