Re: The Politics Thread
Just that politicians need to be open and honest rather than pretending we can muddle along as we are, if their latest "rearrangement" works. Or whatever other ideas they have.Bruce Rioja wrote:Excellent post, Chap. However, I don't see the need for your use of the word "political" in your line "Ultimately the plain political truth is we have to pay more. Or have less". Nobody wants to live in a society where blame and attribution come first before free at the point of delivery medical care, but the NHS has now become a "political" football.
As AT says they tend to rob Peter to pay Paul. Ultimately the running of the NHS is political. And I don't see any real way of decoupling that relationship. I'm not really sure why the incumbent government shouldn't take flak for their poor mismanagement and running down of the service?

I've heard TTIP mentioned a few times and saw demos against it in Germany. For the short of concentration folks like me - in a nutshell what is it?Lord Kangana wrote:Kiss the NHS goodbye folks. We had this nice system where Johnny Foreigner would come over for 10 years in his 20s working and paying taxes contributing to the NHS pot before going home to be a burden on his home country's healthcare system while we then got his 10-year-younger-pal to come over and do the same.
Can't think what we did with it.

Apparently, only half as many people used the trains in Washington DC for Trump's inauguration as did for Obama's. Make of that what you will.
Anyway, that Trump speech in full....

Well a significant number who did turn up, did so to protest. So he's not full of fans in the capital that's for sure.Lord Kangana wrote:Apparently, only half as many people used the trains in Washington DC for Trump's inauguration as did for Obama's. Make of that what you will.

And the reason why the liberals are treated with contempt

Jesus, I've never known a bigger bunch of self righteous knobs who think only they are entitled to run the world!
A differing opinion is one thing, demanding 'their' way is completely another.

Must say that some of the protesters are their own worst enemies. A guy in a balaclava taking a picture of himself with an "impeach" placard under his arm will do exactly what to anything?

I love this numbers game,
3,000,000 more voted for Clinton, it's undemocratic yet they forget 1,000,000 more voted for Brexit

F*ck 'progressives'. F*cking liberals.
I prefer my politicians to say it like it is and make fun of the disabled.
After all, they're just funny aren't they?

And the key line being, before Trump embarks upon his horrendous mocking, for that is exactly what it is, is "You gotta see this guy".Lord Kangana wrote:

LK has it nailed on. The people voting for Trump are the ones who want to be able to 'grab pussy' whenever they want or mock the disabled.Bruce Rioja wrote:And the key line being, before Trump embarks upon his horrendous mocking, for that is exactly what it is, is "You gotta see this guy".Lord Kangana wrote:

What an utterly repugnant tw*t.
This is the climate amongst some of those communities.
So they probably love that. And the whole 'liberal elite' tag has been used as a code way of basically distinguishing those who would say 'I want to ignorantly abuse women, foreigners and the disable,' and those who wouldn't.
Ultimately the irony of billionaire Trump and ex city boy Farage using these terms is totally lost on the muppets who want these sorts of 'freedoms'.

Re: The Politics Thread
Dozy buggers will vote for the daft get because like it or not he does say what's he's thinking. As scary as that may be for some it's a refreshing change from many evasive mealy mouthed politicians. See Theresa May with Andrew Marr this morning. It was Michael Howard all over again
