Re: Forest match thread
Usual two minutes on MOTD mainly due to making sure Harry Redknap got his air time a plenty.

Of course we would and never have lowered ourselves to such foul playChrisC wrote:Just back.. I said the other day on the supporters thread that I don't really celebrate goals like I use to.
Today was very different! What a great atmosphere and game that second half turned into!
We look so much better with 2 up top. Forest are horrible c*nts and they were a disgrace today constantly breaking the game up. That's what made the game so good though due to the hatred we had for Forest's antics.
We seemed really up for it today and the roof would have come off had we got the winner but unfortunately we lacked composure infront of goal.
Spearing is frustrating to watch and I'd have Medo in for him every time. Silly passes and bad decisions constantly.
Really pleased with that today. We need more of that. Just wish we was more clinical infront of goal.

I don't think Nottingham is a s**thole really, although it is apparently the 2nd most deprived city in the country but I don't see that. I have always hated County more than any other team, have always thought their fans have come across as arrogant b**tard*. I don't think they took losing BSA to well either.Nottingham_Blancs wrote:Dan, Nottingham isn't a sh*thole, it's a pretty cool city...lots of decent bars, restaurants, 2 x uni's, decent theatre's, trams, a nice river, test match cricket, 2 x footie teams, more women than men ...my home since in left Bolton at 21...oh and why do you hate Notts County ....a really nice club...nothing to hate about them !bwfcdan94 wrote:My real hatred lies for their nearest rivals, always hated County more than any other team. Also Nottingham's a sh*thole.
As for the match... weakest links were Chungy and Spearing.... lost our momentum a bit after Beckford went off ..... I told you Forest were a dirty team...Forest support was less than I expected and they were unusually subdued.
Half decent atmosphere as we poured forward in the second half. I wish Mark Davies would run at defences a little more...he's unplayable when he does that...oh and he seemed a yard faster than he was pre-injury.
Oh and can BBC Manc please ban the fool who rings in 'first call post-match'... hash tag embarrassing

Re: Forest match thread
Delighted with the effort yesterday. I'll start with a wee negative - we still look at sixes & sevens at the back to me when under pressure. I cant put my finger on what it is, but time and again the opposition strikers seem to find more space in and around our box, than our front men ever do up the other end. It's like half the side are playing zonal marking and the other half man to man - a lack of leadership, poor coaching or both.
On the upside - some great individual performances. As said - Danns, Lonergan, Mills, Baptiste. Great to see Mark Davies running at defences, zipping up and down the pitch and putting in strong tackles with seemingly no ill effect. (Worthy - pi55 & wind - Have you been drinking?
) Crowd did their bit too.
Forest - A side I've always quite admired but no longer. What a bunch of cynical to55 pots. My only regret we couldn't nick a late winner to punish them for their tedious tactic of time wasting. Their fans singing a song to the tune of a feckin Wings hit
. Marginally less embarrassing than Mr Blobby I suppose

How we use to play under Sam is very different to what Forest did yesterday. When they couldn't get the ball to fake injury they would crunch one of our players to break the game up. When the ball should have been passed back to Lonergan, that cock Cox threw it down at the corner flag. When Moritz got the ball when out of play for a goal kick and put it down ready for the goalkeeper to kick it, what did the keeper do? He took the ball to the other side of his 6 yard box to kick it. Wankers the lot of them. Billy Davies being the biggest of the lot. I get an interesting view of away managers this year because my seat in next to the dugouts.

He IS a piss-artist Billy Davies, isn't he ?
I can't think of any other reason for a man, working with athletes to look and sound like he does.

He barely come out from the dugout yesterday other than to kick off with the fourth official. He just constantly sent his coaching staff to the sideline to bark orders. When he first come out, he walked over to the Forest fans to clap them. He then walked away with a smug look on his face knowing with the fans loving him he has a job for the foreseeable even if results turn.

Re: Forest match thread
He reminds me of a Unite full-time official I used to deal with in Glasgow. He made offering you a cuppa sound like a threat. He was OK, but gave this air of aggression at all times. Once I got to know him, he didn't alter but I knew what the score was. I have seen him have managers almost in fear of meeting him ... which I guess was his intent. My saying "look, he's OK" didn't soothe them much.

Re: Forest match thread
A couple of incredible saves from Lonergan. Ngog and Lee should have taken theirs.
Re: Forest match thread
I take it you mean the one where Beckford gets his injury - no way is that a 'should have'
Speaking of Beckford, seeing that, I'm thinking hamstring, 6 weeks minimum

Re: Forest match thread
The one where Chungy lost it through 2 defenders in the box and Ngog made poor contact. Could have buried it!
Re: Forest match thread
I liked seeing Mavies scurrying into the net to get the ball whilst the rest of them ran off to celebrate

Yes, I agree Lee should have shot - I still don't make it a 'should'Vertigo wrote:The one where Chungy lost it through 2 defenders in the box and Ngog made poor contact. Could have buried it!

I do think Mavies often flatters to deceive. And often goes missing. He didn't yesterday (as I think I mentioned in my original "not had a beer" post.)

Re: Forest match thread
In his previous stint there, I have it on good authority that he was the most detested manager in the League - by other managers and officials - including his own board at the time.bobo the clown wrote:He IS a piss-artist Billy Davies, isn't he ?

Which was why they got rid of him even though he had a half decent record as manager.
Your Glasgow union official comparison seems about right.
Except that Davies is not "all right really"
