and you are just making yourself look like one by clearly not being aware of the circumstances before commenting on them.Mackem_and_proud wrote:He must of been a prick!
In the article, doesnt it say something about taking his young kid into a croc pen?
If you can't speak well of the dead, best not to speak at all.

Here's a bit more detail of what happened:

Irwin's friend of 20 years, Ferre De Deyne said Irwin had been struck by the stingray while filming. "The stingray just happened to be swimming around and out of the blue whacked his tail at him," he said.
"It is absolutely tragic. I have dived so many times with stingrays and they are usually very placid things," he said.
Known worldwide as the Crocodile Hunter, 44-year-old Irwin was famous for his enthusiasm for wildlife and his catchcry "Crikey!"
'Non-survivable injuries'
Irwin had been filming a new documentary called Ocean's Deadliest with friend and manager John Stainton at Batt Reef, off Port Douglas about 11am.
"He came over the top of a stingray and the stingray's barb went up and went into his chest and put a hole into his heart," Mr Stainton said.
"It's likely that he possibly died instantly when the barb hit him, and I don't think that he ... felt any pain.
"He died doing what he loved best."
Irwin was pulled aboard his research vessel, Croc One, for a 30-minute dash to Low Isle, where a Queensland Rescue Helicopter had been summoned, his Australia Zoo said in a statement.
The crew of the Croc One performed constant CPR during the voyage to Low Isle, but medical staff pronounced him dead about noon.
"It became clear fairly soon that he had non-survivable injuries," said Dr Ed O'Loughlin, who treated Irwin at the scene.
"He had a penetrating injury to the left front of his chest.
"He had lost his pulse and wasn't breathing."
Dr O'Loughlin said it appeared Mr Irwin had suffered a "form of cardiac arrest" but a post-mortem examination would be conducted in Cairns.

All respect to Steve Irwin, the guy is a legend, and did lots of good in the world. His conservation efforts have helped keep animals from extinction, i will certainly still watch the programme if it continues without him, also i think all these jokes are wrong. In laymans terms 'the guy isnt cold yet' i wish i could say the same about these jokes the people who write them are COLD inside. same happened with Diana/Cockle pickers/That Bee Gee etc,
Crocodile Hunter mk2: The death of a Legend,
It seems the Crocodile Hunter has not been using his sun tan cream, he didnt have protection from the harmful rays.
Funeral will be held tomorrow. Songs to be played,
In a while crocodile
Die you later aligator,
and a new release by Sting.
p.s. Aussie police have reported seeing a Crocodile walking around in a pair of Steve Irwin Skin boots.
Stay up

Comparing irwin with a fireman is a disgrace of a comment. He put his child at risk, and now his kids are without a dad, all for fame.

again, you're talking rubbish. The harpoon story is ludicrous, his manager who was there has said it was a ray and it was on film and the camerman has already discussed this and the film is with the police.SAMHATER wrote:Latest is that he died from being impailed by his own harpoon, the stingray story was made up.

Comparing him to a fireman? Sorry go back and read your own pathetic purile post.
As for endangering his child you embarass yourself again. The child was in less danger than the average kid with it's parent crossing a busy street.Anybody with young kids who risks his life everyday is a prick.
Steve Irwin did not do this for fame and wealth. He was brought up on a reptile farm and worked in a Zoo. He built Ausralia Zoo to what it is now and set up the Steve Irwin Conservation Trust.
Here's a man whose life has been devoted to conservation and education. He's died tragically in an accident and all you can come out with is this pathetic, vile crap.
You embarrass yourself frequently with your ill-advised and badly thought out posts on here but this is a new low for you. You disgust me.

Shame the press agreed with me when he put his kids life in danger then. Ask his kids if they are happy to have no dad? You obvioulsy have no concept of being a responsible parentcommunistworkethic wrote:again, you're talking rubbish. And the press are crocodile experts are they?
Are the children of soldiers or police or in fact of anyone who dies doing their job happy? No they're not, what a stupid question.
You have no concept of human decency, creating lies just to make your nasty little bitter point. It's really a bit sick.

I might be wrong here - being as the fact that I don't have children...
But in my view a responsible parent is a fulfilled one and follows their passion rather than giving stuff up to be miserable.
My uncle died following his passion for mountain biking/climbing, he fell off Snowdon 4 days before Xmas. Most responsible people would ask why was a family man riding his mountain bike in the winter conditions. Perhaps some responsible people would feel he was out of order putting the mountain rescue people at risk who recovered his body and his mountain bike, which ironically had a buckled front wheel and that was it. Others, maybe irresponsible people, would say it's better to do stuff that you enjoy and stimulate you than sit around in the house in case one day you died.
My uncle's family don't begrudge the fact that he died doing something he enjoyed so much, yeah it was was hard so close to Xmas having the inquest, and it being dragged out for so long, but his family don't have any regrets.
He got the all clear from cancer the year before... so maybe that could have killed him and then would we as his family, feel better that at least he died from a fatal disease - or he died doing what inspired him, he was only 35.
Seize the Day.
Follow your passions in my humble view.

I am just one of the few people who are not a hypocrit.
I have never thought much of Irwin and his risk taking, I am not going to now pretend to be heartbroken.
Yes, its sad the guy is dead, but for people to start posting on a forum. Dear me.
When George Best died, minutes silence? For what?
Get it in perspective.

Nobody is suggesting they're heartbroken just showing some respect to a man who brought a lot of joy to people and did his bit to make the world a slightly better place.
Minutes silence is about respecting the passing of the indiviual.
You post your irational and often clueless thoughts about football on a forum, it's only a game yet no question of perspective there?
Like I said a while ago, if you've nothing nice to say they say nothing.

My point is that everyone slated Best for being a drunken wifebeater, then when he died, he was a legend and a great man worthy of a 2 minute silence up and down the country.
Just because someone died does not make them a great person. Is Hitler?
I have nothing against Irwin, shame he died, but anybody who puts his life at risk when he has responsibilities, in the name of fame and fortune in my opinion, is a prick. That includes Irwin, or other likewise fools who didn't make the fame he did
