It felt like we played without a striker when Beckford was up front and that didn't turn out too well did it? (Yes I know he scored for Preston at the weekend but even a broken clock's right once a day)

Monday is a day of the week. In that day it'll be correct twice.thebish wrote:or - once a day and once a night...Bruce Rioja wrote:TwiceBruno3 wrote:It felt like we played without a striker when Beckford was up front and that didn't turn out too well did it? A stopped clock is right twice a day. A clock which runs five minutes slow per hour is still broken, but rarely right.

Not that rare. Every twelve hours it will lose an hour, so will be correct once every 144 hours, or every six days. If it lost a minute an hour it would be right just over once a month. Now if it lost a second an hour it would be rarely right - about once every five years.Prufrock wrote:A stopped clock is right twice a day. It was never in doubt once we'd replaced Eidur's overly stationary enganche with Trotter's uber-mobile raumdeuter...Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:Aaahhh, I have a vague memory of it. My memory is also not what it wasBruno3 wrote:
Just because on some other thread which I can't find now from last week I suggested putting Trotter up front and you found it hilarious. My memory isn't what it was (and it was never great) so if I've confused you with somebody else I'm sorry
Anyway, from what it sounds, it sounds like my playing with no strikers suggestion was taken and proven a good one
