I propose the Four Seasons in Astley Bridge.

Heard nowt from CAPS. I think he's in prison.
I can do that - have you checked it's open on Sunday at ten?

CAPS is in custody.

I grassed him up.

He's down for 20 years without benefit of clergy.

Best phone call i ever made... :D :D :D

William. The run is Saturday morning. Four seasons is (was) opposite the parade of shops in front of Asda, little corner cafe. Hope they don't mine some sweaty arsed blokes clomping in on 'em!

HG I got your message. Sorry I was out running. 08:30's what I'm aiming for too. See you there.

Yes, Will. My suggestion is this. I'll pick you up at 8:30. We can have a drive over to LHP to meet the gazelles. They run at 9:00 and will be done by 9:20 (I'm not running, otherwise we'd be going for lunch instead  ) Then make our way over to Astley Bridge. I can vouch for the breakfasts and for the place. Just the job. Then, if you like, we can nip over to Forest Bank to visit Caps :)

Managed to get 4Km out tonight, but at 6'38" each. Perhaps I'll just have a small breakfast in the morning

Made the mistake of accompanying a mate running over Rivington & Belmont this morning. He's due to do a 100mile race over the Pyrenees at the end of this month for the 2nd year running

Usually theres a few others to rein him in a bit but today it was just the two of us. If I hadn't started moaning after 3 hours I'd still be out there! That's me done moving for the rest of the day

Just back from my weekend exertions. Anyway, here's my official time from the Park Run

You finished in 16th place and were the 13th gent out of a field of 118 parkrunners and you came 1st in your age category VM45-49.

That's my best placing and, considering they changed the course to include 3 hills instead of 1, I'm absolutely delighted.

My time of 23:55 is slow but considering those hills and a proper Bolton Chippy tea the night before I shouldn't have expected more.

Biggest compliment of the day was HG saying he couldn't catch me on the hills! Good to catch up with WtW, Bruce and HG aand hopefully we'll do it again.

Now I'm definitely glad I didn't do it :D

Well done, mate, and to Harry too. Next time - I promise I'll be up for it.

5-a-side tonight prior to being sucked back in to the Olympics wormhole.

Was busier then i thought it would be tonight Bish, assumed all the athletes would skive off to watch the olympics!

Just a couple of minor niggles Harry, that i probably over-reacted to.

1. Our best young athlete is moving to a bigger club - though is still apparently planning on training with us - but competing for them. He's got a real attitude on him, knows he is good, doesn't listen to any advice and kinda got put up with cos he did so well for the club. Now he's not gonna compete for us i'd rather he buggered off totally and we gave his place to one of the many kids on our waiting list who may not be as talented but will work hard to improve, and compete for us.

2. some 12 year old giving me lip over her long jump run up after i heard 1. was happening i was not in the mood for any more prima donna teenagers!

But 12's not teenage. so you have some slack. :) Anyway, our Millie's decided that she's going to be the World Champion Long Jumper, and although she'll be seven on Sunday, she's already almost as tall as you. Have you any advice for her? :)

Did the park run again this week. After last weeks 3 hill grueller it was back to normal today with a much bigger field. I was supposed to be doing it as a loosener for a 10k grand prix race tomorrow but just before the start I bumped into a bloke from work. He's a nice enough chap but really knows how to push my buttons and keeps telling me he's going to beat me one day when he tries his hardest. He went out really hard and I only caught him on the hill on the 2nd lap.

Any road, I didn't quite reach the giddy heights of last weeks 14th place but thanks to him I'm now knackered but with a PB of 21.24 :oyea:

Cheers guys - PB was definitely down to my workmate. I'm sure I would have been at least a minute slower if I hadn't been chasing him. A bit similar to last week Gary if I'm honest where I had to work hard to stay with you - we must do it again when you're back up - dragging Bruce, your Chris & WtW along too :D
