There's a reason why

Jermaine Beckford anyone, been told he can leave Leicester... Could be a decent signing if he finds his confidence again from his Leeds days!

Shouldn't be too high seeing as clubs like Leeds are looking at him, only moved to Leicester for 2.5milohjimmyjimmy wrote:Defo.

SSN running a story about us being poised to sign Sanchez.
(make that ANOTHER story about us being poised to sign Sanchez)
But anyway, thats the latest, three year deal being mooted.

Some interesting phrases in the local paper
It is understood there has been a breakthrough in talks with Colombia international Carlos Sanchez, with a deal now a strong possibility.
The former Valenciennes midfielder has spoken with the club after several weeks of delays and is now mulling over an offer.
Coyle is also pursuing a striker but admits he has been frustrated at not being able to field his first-choice attacking trio – Kevin Davies , Marvin Sordell and Ngog – in the first four games of the pre-season.
“You’d always want everyone available all the time,” he said. “But we know we have good players and that they will score goals in the Championship.
“We haven’t been able to use Marvin because he has been playing for Team GB, and I thought he did really well the other night. David has had a bad back, but he trained really well the other day and it's just a case of not risking him at the moment.
“Those two do give us a different threat. The skipper is as good a target man as you’d want to find anywhere but both Marvin and David are able to go in behind defenders as well, so that creates different problems.
“It will be nice when they are back on board but we’d maybe still like to add another option up there.”

Jermaine Beckford was a one-trick pony who has done b-all since his decision to force an exit from Leeds.Tals-biggest-fan wrote:Shouldn't be too high seeing as clubs like Leeds are looking at him, only moved to Leicester for 2.5milohjimmyjimmy wrote:Defo.

I think, a bit MRickett's-like, he sort of lost the hunger once he got his move & his big pay-pcket & signing-on fee. Also, when he moved up he realised that life in the Prem wasn't a simple step-up & when he stepped back he couldn't rcapture it either.
Wouldn't fancy him one bit.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Scored two less then our top scorer (elmander) despite playing less games and then scored 15 last season for Leicester (8 in the championship) he'd do a better job then Davies would do and Ngog still hasn't proven himself good enough to be our first choice striker...bobo the clown wrote:Jermaine Beckford was a one-trick pony who has done b-all since his decision to force an exit from Leeds.Tals-biggest-fan wrote:Shouldn't be too high seeing as clubs like Leeds are looking at him, only moved to Leicester for 2.5milohjimmyjimmy wrote:Defo.

Frankly, I fear, Coffeymagic would score more than SKD these days.
Not Bruce, to be fair, but Coffey would.

That's simply not true.TANGODANCER wrote:Get it right mate. We can't rely on Petrov's penalties and we seem to create chances, hit bars, have near misses but can't score goals. We have N'gog and Sordel in addition to KD yet we don't do the business. Even with Klasnic we still got relegated. Anybody thought of shooting practise at the Bok? Petrov's one of the best crossers of a ball in the business and we have Chungy, Eagles and Wilde plus Alonso who can all cross balls. Get near the goals and we miss. Get some shooting practise in Owen. All I'm seeing is young strikers in fancy boots who don't score.
However, you are moaning about our lack of goalscoring, yet don't want to blame the player who is actually playing, but would rather blame those who aren't or don't exist.
I'd say that reflects some quite serious issues on your part.....

But I'd heard Bruce didn't play at a very good level - can't recall who by though.bobo the clown wrote:Frankly, I fear, Coffeymagic would score more than SKD these days.

Well maybe, but then neither SKD or Coffeymagic are tricky, speed-merchant wingers.bobo the clown wrote:Frankly, I fear, Coffeymagic would score more than SKD these days.

I'd be happy if Beckford turned up to play for the Wanderers
Pfffft.

I'm not really really one of those who come on here weekly moaning or blaming anybody. I usually leave it to others . Would be slightly weird as I interviewed Beckford the same night I interviewed Keith Andrews, at the Football League Awards (they'd each won Best Player in their division). Can't remember who the other divisional winner was, but I assume linkage will follow.TKIZ! wrote:I'd be happy if Beckford turned up to play for the Wanderers
(For the record, Andrews was very polite, slightly shy but positive; Beckford was cockier but by no means unpleasant.)
