Lizarazu? Is he still going?

Re: TKIZ's impossibly brilliant all new Transfer Rumours thr
This is why I don't like this time of year. We can't afford the proven PL players who everyone wants, we can't even afford the best players from the relegated teams and we're fighting Sunderland for all the Bosmans. So we're looking at kids from Spain who may/may not get in the team or people who have been squeezed out by the millions at Citeh and might be ok with the concept of playing for a lower level of club. So the hope is they're another Anelka. Is SWP another Anelka?
I don't really need any big name signing for loads of money. A small, healthy squad full of players who can get on the pitch would be awesome.
Selling Basham to Blackpool looks like a nice bit of business now. I think he played for them on the one game he made 10 changes, but apart from that did he play?

The players you fail to sign never lose you any money.

Who lets remember was our first choice right back under Allardyce for a season or so ahead of Hunt.
If it wasn't for injuries JOB would have been a very decent player for us.

Very highly rated by Allardyce and the coaching staff pre injury troubles which is why they put him in the first team.Lord Kangana wrote:No he wouldn't.
I watched him in a few reserve games before he cracked the first team and he was the one they all went to watch.
Definitely would have been a very good holding midfield player in time were it not for his terrible luck.

I work with a Wednesday fan who saw more of him in midfield than we ever did, and he thought him too lightweight for that position. Nice passer but too soft.BWFC_Insane wrote:Very highly rated by Allardyce and the coaching staff pre injury troubles which is why they put him in the first team.Lord Kangana wrote:No he wouldn't.

I was living over that side at the time JOB was on loan there and the Weds fans I knew thought he was the dogs bollocks! Described him as a class above.Lofthouse Lower wrote:I work with a Wednesday fan who saw more of him in midfield than we ever did, and he thought him too lightweight for that position. They were dissapointed with his second spell there, but obviously he was never the same player since the injuries.

So Danny Ward is going to be a great player if he stays injury free then?

What a strange conclusion to draw from anything that has been said here. JOB went on loan at what age 18/19, was a success, came back and got into the first team here the next season.Lord Kangana wrote:So Danny Ward is going to be a great player if he stays injury free then?
Hardly similar to Ward is it?

Hypothetically, if Ward had the same chances here as Rodrigo last season, do you think he would have managed at least 1 goal and 1 assist (same as Rodrigo)?
Discuss.
We did, after all, get him on loan after playing 'shit hot in (Spanish) Division Three'.

Though to be fair, never 'got it' with JOB
Looked OK in Turkey, but other than that, not for me
He was miles behind Hunt as a full back
