They have tried ... but how frustrating is it that we get to 3rd in the league and, instead of capitalising it, we let a (good) striker piss off for free and *might* even sell a regular CM?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 2:46 pmI think we've tried. But there isn't much money. The fact we've likely bid for a non-league striker and had it turned down suggests how desperate things have gotten!

Was worth pursuing then. We got one leftfield (right fullback) player this transfer window: Olki and he's been great.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 1:03 pmGot good pedigree, but was one of those that came to Newcastle, couldn't stop scoring initially, then went quiet and disappeared.
Not sure how he'd fit in for us, but certainly would be a different option.

Worst comes to worst (n two hours time): Wildschut up front. He'd done it about 6 or so times at Wigan.
He plays like a dribbling striker anyway.

A) Because Le Fondre wanted to go. If we'd said no he'd have been a pissed off striker. And he's a sulker type is ALF.Jugs wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 2:56 pmThey have tried ... but how frustrating is it that we get to 3rd in the league and, instead of capitalising it, we let a (good) striker piss off for free and *might* even sell a regular CM?BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 2:46 pmI think we've tried. B) Because we have a £4M debt due tomorrow. With serious ramifications if it isn't paid or another re-financing deal agreed.
That is the reality of our situation.
I think the lack of another striker signing (at least a 3rd choice) is going to be unforgivable. Failing to sign a top striker? Ok. Tough with no money. Failing to at least bring some cover in? Absolutely ridiculous.

Looks like we might be about to sign someone, owing to Lee's latest tweet.

He was a pissed off striker when he came on v Fulham. And look at what he did!BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Fri Aug 31, 2018 3:28 pmA) Because Le Fondre wanted to go. How long did it take you to type that!

So there's a moneybag emoji, does that mean we've spent money on a player? Ie. it's a loan to buy?
