Diving Arsenal Players - The Least Shocking Admission Ever

There ARE other teams(we'd have no-one to play otherwise) and here's where all-comers can discuss the wider world of football......

'Our' Jack. Is he after the post vacated by Tommy Robinson? :conf:

Whilst there are balances in this I tend to agree with him. The embarrassing phase when they were looking at Almunia was bad enough. This Belgian/Albanian kid with one ... that's a zero plus a one ... premiership start under his belt, is ridiculous.

It's bad enough with cricket, let's not get there with football.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

You're gonna have to explain that one to me Bruce, in detail. Clues are
1 who's our Jack
2 what's he done
3 who's Tommy Robinson
4 what position are we talking about?

No worries, Sickboy.

'Our' Jack is Jack Wilshire. Ours because he'd have amounted to nothing if it weren't for his time spent at our place and with Kevin Davies. :)

He's come out with something about only players born in England or with English parents should be allowed to play for England, and at the England Manager should be English too.

Tommy Robinson is the founder and ex leader of the EDL. He's stepped down from the position due to his concerns over the "dangers of far-right extremism".

That now vacant position.

I can see what Wilshire's saying, and I agree with him more than disagree, but it isn't as straightforward as his achingly naive remarks suggest, of course.

It's an odd one. I've no problem with folk playing for England who weren't born here but it's hard to be specific about what is and isn't acceptable. I'd at least expect one of the players parents to be English, of for them to have lived here for so long they became Uk citizens. There's something unseemly about trying to persuade a Belgian with Albanian parents to stay here for 5 years so he qualifies to play for England.

Reminds me of the time when Sven Goran Eriksson (then England manager) enquired as to the availability of Ricardo Gardner (then Jamaica captain)

Cheers Brucie. I was thinking left back or something, never crossed my mind it would be leader of the EDL

I think he's bob-on. From the quotes I've read he doesn't refer to being born in England (which would be naive but along the right lines) but about being 'English' (whatever that means). Given the context with this United kid who so far has been here about two years I think it's fair. Nationalism is something I have no time for in real life, but it's pretty much the point of international sport! I wouldn't like to draw the line myself, but something like 'going to school' in that country would be a limit on the likes of Tony Cascarino playing for Ireland.

It would also mean that his mate Fabrice would never have been able to pull on an England shirt at any level.

Funny really because unless the FA change their own rules the Janusaj thing can't happen. He probably doesn't even want to play for England either! Supposedly he fancies playing for Kosovo.

Totally disagree with this Deco-like behaviour. It already happens too much with Brazilians exported to various leagues around the world before turning to that nationality.

personally, I think only people born in Woolwich or Highbury boroughs should be allowed to play for Arsenal.

the local kids are all overlooked and disadvantaged by those pitching up from foreign parts.

Thamesmead? (one for the South Londoners there)

We've not done that well recently against them away, the wheels are going to come off our winning train spectacularly soon and I expect RVP to score a hatrick. Predicting a 3-1 loss.

Arsenal are going to OT off the back of an away win at Dortmund, the team will be full of confidence. You'll have to much in midfield for them, United are struggling a bit under Moyes.....Arsenal win....

I'd be happy with a draw. They will be well up for this one, got a point to prove.
