Thought I'd rekindle this thread....
Firstly on a light hearted note, can anyone see past New England this year? As per usual having a soft spot for the Rams, I'm now purely watching as a neutral. Just cannot see anyone troubling the Patriots.
Secondly, and much more sombre, great shame about Sean Taylor, not necessarily the most angelic of people himself, with a fairly substantial list of run-ins with the police, but 24 is no age, and leaving a young daughter behind, thoughts have to be with his family.

I was a Raider fan from the early 1960s before there was an NFL as we know it (and still am). Indeed I could only get AFL games (N BC) on my rabbit ears and not NFL (CBS). They were originally from Oakland and only went to LA in the early 80s moving back in the mid 90s. They had some terrific teams and creative ways of winning (some now disallowed with the rules like the forward fumble into the endzone). Currently I would say they are garbage and have been for some time, alas.WhiteArmy wrote:I first watched AF in the early 80's when the Raiders beat the Redskins? so they have always been the ones i watch out for.
Think they're called Oakland now tho and not L.A :/
Not watched it for ages, takes miles too long. Have the Raiders got a chance or are they garbage now?

They have been more successful than BWFC, 'tis true. 3 Superbowls and a recent loss there as you say. But they went from penthouse to outhouse very quickly and got the first overall pick for the first time in their history this year (i.e. the worst team).a1 wrote:jamarcu$ played for them last week .. for 30 mil he better be good for their sake, if he's as good as they say they'll be reet if nosferatu gets his wallet out ..Montreal Wanderer wrote: I was a Raider fan from the early 1960s before there was an NFL as we know it (and still am).
