Don't think I could ever give up cheese.
Back to the imposters on the food chain - joining celery at the top of the list is the radish. Evil little bastard.

Sounds fantastic Will, and healthy to boot. Bonus!William the White wrote:Sea bream tagine recommended....Bruce Rioja wrote:Weeeeeell, in my defence, your honour, my microwave is one of those combo jobbies so it cooks the spud and crisps the skin - they come out lovely. Try thinly sliced radish and fennel in a vinaigrette with some really fresh white fish.Wandering Willy wrote:Don't think I could ever give up cheese.

Don't eat fish.
Unless it's cod, battered.
With chips.

No.
I like fishfingers too, on a butty. Wouldn't soil them with a radish though, however thinly sliced. It'd spoil the taste of the salad cream.

Because standards slipped a week or so ago.

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
Indeed - I still struggle with giving up cheese - especially roquefort - and other feckin delicious high salt, high fat, blue cheese, totally consumable daily if only you could, with sweet white wines (tyvm Lord Kangana, just to make it even harder)... This is a struggle I'm winning... don't know how exactly... allowing myself a monthly 'treat' (I feckin look forward to this n all)... and eating a lot of spicy foods and, counter-intuitively, very plain, very fresh fish, which I love, and occasionally bunging said fish into spicy tagine... Mmmm... this is, actually, getting more than occasional...Bruce Rioja wrote:Have to say, Willy, it was easier giving up the cigsWandering Willy wrote:Don't think I could ever give up cheese.

On topic, but off thread a bit:
I haven't managed to give up the cigs yet. Given up everything else which was easy, but I enjoy a good smoke. Strangely, I don't smoke indoors at all, nor in the car - just outside which helps keep the numbers down.

Well heads up folks, because cheese made from sheep and goats milk is not bad for you at all. Its quackery to suggest otherwise. Cows milk, yes, theres too many components to it that are just too robust for our system. And theres more saturated fat in there.

Willy - The wonderful discovery for me was that giving up smoking was actually piss easy - it really was - once i really knew, deep inside, that is what I wanted to do... before that never managed more than four months...Wandering Willy wrote:On topic, but off thread a bit:

Ten years ago - only rarely tempted since, never succumbed...
Errrrmmmm... it only took me about thirty five years to get to that place though....
Good luck, man - you'll never regret...

Aye - that's how I was with giving up other things. Not mentally there with smoking, still enjoy it. so no point in trying to give up until I'm ready.William the White wrote:

Re: What are you eating and drinking tonight?
You know - that's true - until then, even if you manage it, it will be provisional... Can I offer you (no 'smugness' or anything intended, absolutely not) this thought... there might well come a time - as it did with me - when you are just sick of being a smoker, sick of the money, sick of the hours spent outside, sick of killing yourself, sick of being stupid, sick of despising yourself... And I - honestly - got there - and gave up like it was a liberation... two tough weeks (actually not that tough, really, once i looked at it as freedom ahead)... and done forever... And then, which of those addictions would you be stupid enough to pick up again... ??? Eh???Wandering Willy wrote:Aye - that's how I was with giving up other things.
