...just cannot be arsed anymore. SS will either get ratification or they won't.

why do the league give a F? if SS were not prepared to bail us out then they would be docking us 10 points and effectively putting us out of business anyway...

Because they've taken flak for a long time for not policing takeovers adequately. So they tightened the rules and have to be seen to be upholding them.

I think this is a bit of grandstanding and they will eventually give approval.

Both saying the same thing. Two things league are concerned by.

1) is clause giving Eddie payments.

2) is league want proof that sports shield can make up the 5M of lost revenue if/when we get relegated.
Both are not saying the same thing.

Anderson says - wait for it, not even "a source said" - "it is believed the League also have reservations about Davis being paid a cut od Bolton's TV cash over the next 5 years"

Iles doesn't mention anything about the clause giving Eddie payment.

You're making stuff up again, to suit your point of view.

So, has the tax not been paid yet? I'm out of the loop here. I thought we sold Euxton and the car park to settle the tax bill?

From the Bolton News article.
One of the major sticking points is understood to be a clause in the sale of the club that entitles Eddie Davies to a percentage of future television and sponsorship money for the next five years.

I'm not seeing that - I'm seeing an article written by Iles - so headed to BN site to have a looksee - even Iles is running with one of the sticking points "is understood to be" rather than his "a source close to the negotiations/club/Mars"

That's Bonnar, not Iles.

Anyway on the face of it Eddie Davies can just feck right off, we would have been far better going bust and him losing his hold on the club and hopefully some real money!
Face it, we are down anyway and what's the betting Mr £180 million right off has interest clauses somewhere in there.
In the wilderness with overpaid players (Thanks Phil) a useless manager and a previous so called benefactors debt!

I hope the league chuck the deal out!

If SS don't now have the funds, because of these future demands of ED then IMO we'd be better going into admin and taking the short term pain, lets be honest its been an abysmal season and we are all but down - so we may as well take the 12 point deduction

We may then become more attractive to some richer investors who are probably reluctant to pay ED a % of future profits and to be honest I don't blame them.

Just for you - here's Nicko's latest tweet....
Bolton. Spoken to three interested parties in last few days. All said same. Keen if goes into admin. But won't do deal on Davies terms ...

Kinda backs up the Davies is awkward theory.

The club would survive admin, SS struggling with Davies debt hanging over them or BWFC free of Emperor Davies and his clutches struggling along?
Give me the latter every time.

One of those three parties will almost certainly be the supporters trust. They would never have survived the scandal of the profit of supporters' investment going to Eddie Davies' pockets.

But post administration, you can bet they'd be chomping at the bit again.

Admin now though means administrators sell off assets to do deals with creditors. We've already sold off a lot of assets and are in a transfer window. Given HMRC are hardly sympathetic what deal would they do? And in admin under FL rules we have to pay football debts first. So players and other clubs etc....

Not sure at this stage admin is anything but a nightmare.

In my view we need the sports shield deal sorted otherwise things become potentially very bad indeed. End of the day these other parties may well have no more money than sports shield.
