It's great we're now in a position to offer three-year contracts. He's exactly the type of player we should be signing to a three-year contract as well.

Good business.

If we hadn't signed Dapo we'd have needed to go out and find a player just like him. He also ticks the box of having resale value if he steps up in League One. Delighted to have him on a permanent deal. I don't think there are too many full backs in League One who will have fun against him.

Another signing incoming!

It's been confirmed that head teaboy Sonicthewhite has secured the services of a reserve kettle for the upcoming season. He has brought Phillips out of retirement to provide back-up and competition to no1 kettle Russell Hobbs. Even though Phillips has not made a competitive brew for a long time he has bags of experience brewing up in Bolton, Bury, Oxford, Lincoln and Telford. Sonicthewhite had this to say;

"Whilst Phillips is no spring element anymore he still knows where the bottom of the cup is and will provide serious competition for Russell. Too many times last season we had to rely on Russell to pull some crucial last minute espresso's out of the pot and it would have been foolish to go into the new season with only one recognized brew facility on the cooker. Since he's come back Phillips has proved that there's still plenty of boil left in him".

This will be welcome news as the only other back-up available was young French brewer Cafetiere who sources say was not ready for 1st team thirst relief.

Age and treachery will always overcome youth and skill!

And the key to a result is a good :kettle:

Nice to see the commitment from dapo. No 'seeing what else comes up'. Find him a bit frustrating but definitely lots of potential and already a real handful.

Good decision. Concern that he wouldn't work up a full head of steam on a cold Tuesday night against Wigan.

Good news- signing Isgrove is someone who has done it at this level and I think just took a long time to get back to fitness post covid. Dapo is the first time We’ve signed someone in a long time who I’ve thought could develop into someone who will make us some cash! He has a lot to work at for me but he’s definitely exciting and someone I am looking forward to watching in the flesh.

Dapo and Politic will certainly get fan off their seats next season. Exciting prospects to look forward to, although we can all agree that they are not yet the finished article.

I think people are right that Dapo is raw, but then he's 23 and has barely played any league football. His physical attributes and work rate mean he'll be a pain in the arse for defenders in league one. He's lost key development time to the academy system when he should have been playing regular league football. Hopefully he can catch up, because to me he looks like he'd have been ready for the Championship at this point if he'd been playing regularly in the lower leagues since he was 19 or 20.

He was training with the first team last week or so before the season finished.

Recovered from his injury and was in full training with the first team at the end of the season based on reports. Was not rushed by Evatt. According to DSB Contract expiry list he has a contract to June 2022 with us.

Thanks. I missed that. Really glad to hear he is back in full training. Hopefully Evatt likes the look of him.

Politic will be a major asset next season, it will be like a major new signing.

Also, Zach Clough did it at championship level with us previously & in an Evatt possession based passing & move side would be a decent addition IMO, I think that he would slot in perfectly with the way IE wants the team to play.

Oh yes. There can be no excuse if we fail to take advantage of the free kicks he wins next season.

Won't believe it until I see the Kettle, Cup, Grin photo in the hotel kitchen.

It's another where you would hope so. Championship clubs are unlikely to be beating his door down and he knows he can play regular football here. Most fans I speak to like him, so you'd imagine he'd want a chance to finally settle at a club and play in front of fans next season.

I don’t see how he fits in. Where would he play? If you look at the workrate Evatt demands and how we played the second half of the season there is no way on earth Clough gets into that team. He needs to go somewhere and prove himself week in week out because right now all he is, is a flash in the pan who has failed at places like Rochdale and Wigan subsequently. I hope he re finds himself somewhere but I’m completely sure we wouldn’t be the place for that.

Perhaps he comes in as a super sub option. Sounds like a potential alternative option to come off the bench to give us something a little bit different. Like Elbouzedi but better at passing.
