http://menmedia.co.uk/manchesterevening ... oan-chanceBolton must wait at least another fortnight to find out whether they have a chance of landing Daniel Sturridge on loan again next season.
The Chelsea striker has flown on the club’s Far East tour after partnering Fernando Torres in a 1-1 friendly draw at Portsmouth.
Wanderers would love to sign the former City youngster after his superb loan spell at the Reebok last season.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle is good friends with Chelseacounterpart Andre Villas-Boas and has hinted he may enquire about Sturridge’s availability.
“Daniel is a very, very interesting player with a tremendous future,” said Villas-Boas.
“The individual is highly regarded by myself.
“I have 15 days in Asia to make the best decision and I need those four games to continue to assess.
“When we get back from Asia we have a week running into the Rangers game and I think from then on a decision will have to be taken to be ready for the first game of the season.”
Is he a closet policeman?

Barca ace set to sign
Bolton Wanderers, 12:53, July 19, 2011
Bolton hope to wrap up a deal this weekend for Barcelona's Jeffren Suarez after giving up on Shaun Wright-Phillips.
Wanderers boss Owen Coyle is hopeful of wrapping up a £5million deal for the Spanish attacker when he returns from the club's pre-season tour of the USA and talks are planned for the weekend.
The 23-year-old will not link up with Bolton in the States, as reported in the press, but will sign on the dotted line at the weekend if personal terms can be agreed between the two parties.
The 23-year-old is ready to turn his back on clubs in Spain and Italy to move to England, and Bolton are in pole position after Barca accepted a £5million bid.
Coyle is turning to the Spanish starlet after ditching all efforts to sign Wright-Phillips, who was unwilling to drop his personal terms enough for a deal to happen.
A £4million fee had been agreed with City but the winger would only drop his wages to £60,000 a week so Coyle has switched his attentions to Suarez who should sign this week.

It's certainly screwy though as Bolton (Evening) News don't really report on Wanderers transfers unless they've got the story. So unless someone in the club is feeding them bs?
Jeffren will be waiting a long time for Liverpool to sign him because they've just bought a new winger
LL, stop being a pessimistic swine!!

Yes but Jeffren is a midfielder, so chances are they'll want him.
Then we swoop for Downing on loan

Or just throw Petrov up front, he could do that job easily. In fact he could do almost any job easily, including Head of News International

To do a bit of a DSB where in that story is a quote to say 'nobody has bid for Jeffren'? All it says is the market is not as busy as is reported. Which could well be a way of saying 'look mate we want you out only Bolton have bid so far we suggest you toddle off there.' I doubt Nixon, the BN, Sky yesterday, and several Spanish papers including the usually reliable AS would report our bid if it hadn't happened. Nothing in the actual quotes suggest it hasn't! Reading between lines though as expected it doesn't look like he fancies coming here. Selling Taylor against this backdrop however is IMO madness!

I thought it had been given the Green Flag?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.

Owen will probably give Jeffren the whole 'stepping stone' talk i.e come to Bolton give us a good year or 2 and be on your way with the club hopefully 5-10 mil up in profit..if he's happy to come to England in general i don't think the level of clib would be the biggest obstacle (maybe for his ego but nothing major) we are a top flight club after all.

I doubt were getting this barca kid I can't believe he will pick us over some Spain and Italian teams! I ain't fussed really as the only thing I see as good is that he comes from barca and so did rodrigo and although he didn't look that bad he won't overly impressive! Plus £5mill is alot for a player untested in the prem, on the upside he could become a global superstar and be sold next summer for a mere £35 mill hahaha

Options are limited when Barca don't want to sell to any rivals competing in either La Liga, or Europe in general. We fit the bil quite nicely especially when we're one of (if not the only) team to have a bid match their evaluation. Even if this move doesn't happen I think everyone is glad we as a club are talking with teams the like of Barca, good relations with them could lead to some exciting loan deals or such like in the future!mighty_whites wrote:I doubt were getting this barca kid I can't believe he will pick us over some Spain and Italian teams!
