If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

Meanwhile, we've been trumped for the loan services of Everton's Belgian winger/forward David Henen. By Fleetwood Town.

I'm rather taken by the headline "Cod Wallop"...That's better than watching the football.

This is all well and good, getting gazumped for a player on loan - but the target is a prospect who plays at Development Squad level. Don't we have any of those? Are they all total nice people?

"Henen, 19, has yet to make a first-team appearance for Everton after he joined from Greek side Olympiakos in July."

He's signed for Fleetwood on a one-month loan deal. If he does well, he might then be offered on loan to Championship clubs and maybe that's when our ears prick up again.

Big Rich clubs hoovering up the talent, hoping to get lucky, and loaning it all out in the hope that they make it. Meanwhile at Fleetwood Town there is a youngster whose prospects just narrowed a little. Great.

He's just turned 29. Too young for our frontline.

Don't say we couldn't afford him.

Exactly what we need. Quick, got goals in him, can play wide or up top.

According to the BEN:
"The Portuguese striker has been on trial at a number of clubs and had also been training with the Whites over the last few weeks at Euxton. It is understood that he was not being considered for a contract at Wanderers but he penned a deal at The Valley which takes him up to the end of the season."

^^ so, either nor fancied or out of our price range.

I prefer to think its the former reason, but fear it's the latter.

Well his last return to the Championship was very successful - Barnsley then West Ham

IIRC he scored the goal that won them promotion.

Never quite Premiership class, but then neither are we these days!

If we have strikers better than him, we have been hiding them well.

So probably we can't afford him?????

Or maybe Lenny has no eye for championship strikers?

This has got to the very very concerning stage. Gartside is 'very unwell' according to what the club is telling Iles.

The takeover sounds like a load of hot air as even Marc Iles is beginning to doubt it. Nixon all along has said it is a no go.

Nixon now reporting there is no money for anymore loans in the sun today.

This feels like a club in total meltdown. And there isn't an obvious way out until someone buys in. And frankly at this stage why would they?
