Ohhh, superb. I always said that this game was about more than just the Premier League; this was our chance to exact revenge upon those Stokie bastards, and my God we did that today. I can't fault a single player, but special praise has to go to Eagles, Muamba and Joe Riley, who was fecking superb.

Happy Wanderer tonight.

Also, was that our biggest Premiership home win?

Yes. We haven't won 5-0 since beating Leicester away on the opening day of our first season up. Last season's 5-1 drubbing of Newcastle was our (previous) biggest win since then, making today's victory our biggest victory for 10 years.

That's more bloody like it!

I posted on here that it was important to get an early goal to shut their supporters up and that's exactly what we did. I heard nothing from them all game apart from one half arsed attempt at Delilah.

Stunning performance from the whole team, no one player played poorly today, the best I've seen since we battered Newcastle last season. As soon as I saw their formation with Huth at right back I knew that Eagles would tear him a new arsehole and that's what he did. A deserved man of the match performance.

Joe Riley - I'm not one to get carried away but he was BLOODY BRILLIANT, the best fullback performance I can remember. He won headers, got stuck in challenges, but not only did he do that in his own position I saw him covering at left back as well and doing the same thing there! He has a cracking cross on him and looked like he grew in confidence as the game progressed, making one excellent run and drilling a low cross across goal which was dying for a centre forward to stick in the net. If he can continue playing like that, we can ship out all the deadwood we have in that position as we've got a nailed on first choice right there, there's no doubt about that.

Muamba and Coker did a cracking job in midfield, winning challenges and dominating the midfield, something we've missed for some time.

Finally, Kevin Davies, WOW! What's happened? It's like we had the KD back that we had under Allardyce! Won everything, tracked back and won everything, did a great job. If only he could do it every bloody week!

For those that stayed away today (and it was empty), it serves you right because you missed out on a cracking game and a dominant performance. Well done whites!

Excellent all round performance....where did that come from ?, it could have been 6 or 7 we were rampant 2nd half...

Early goal obviously helped, but the tempo and passing all game was 1st class, its only one game and they need to continue in that manner, but it was a massive improvement which went some way to drawing a line under Wembley.

Very brave decision from Coyle with that starting XI - he grew a pair in my eyes today hats off to him !, but to a man they looked hungry and didnt let Stoke settle. Great debut from Riley, Cahill & Wheater played very well (especially Wheater) - the whole midfield linked well and played with energy & at a high tempo moving the ball well and even KD had a decent game, and well done to Eagles & Klasnic

Yes we may have met Stoke at a good time, but it was a very enjoyable game and I'm still a bit shocked as it was totally un expected....it'll certainly be dull on here for a few weeks !!

This no doubt will be trotted out ad infinitum, conveniently forgetting that we had just lost our star player and newfound talisman to a horrendous injury and couldn't play our most in form (and prolific) goalscorer in last years game, and so Stoke caught us at an equally bad moment.

They capitalised when it counted.

So did we.

What made me laugh was the fat bastard in the Stoke end upper tier with the "5-0" t-shirt on!

We were fantastic today. The key being Muamba and Reo Coker in the centre, winning a lot of ball.

All round we looked tighter, more compact, played closer together, moved the ball quicker and showed desire.

That should be the blueprint. Yes Stoke were clearly tired and well below their best but we exposed them time and time again whilst looking solid.

Key now is to use this as a blueprint and repeat the desire, compactness, work rate and energy week in week out!

Riley was massively impressive and Wheater and Cahill were solid.

Eagles was superb, and had the beating of Huth all game.

Front two worked their socks off and Mark Davies gave us the movement we've lacked.

We simply need to go on a decent run now, in two weeks time we can't afford to go back to square one!

Too glued to the game to bother posting. Well chuffed at half-time, ecstatic at the end. Son was texting and raising a glass from California as the goals went in. Eagles goal turned the game completely and Klasnic's first was sheer brilliant striking. Would love Muamba's effort to have gone in at the end. Team work and effort won the day today, oh, and having a working midfield. Young Riley was terrific and Muamba shut a few up. Eagles was right on his game. Stoke had nothing but long-ball, Sunday league tackling and gaining ten yards on every throw. I think I'm suffering from smugness right now, might not last but MOTD is suddenly highlight of the night. Take that, and that, and that, and that, and THAT!

For those that thought Bolton didn't care about their FA Cup performance last season, today we saw just how easy they took that defeat. The wanted to score 20 in the game today. Even though this win doesn't make up for it they wanted revenge and it showed in their performance. They had a F.U. attitude towards the Stoke players. I was impressed.

A simple BOLTON 5 STOKE 0 might be a good way to end the thread. (but it's not ready to end yet. Some more gloating to do.)

That 5-0 win today in the league is far more important than scoring 5 in a cup competition.

Once again fantastic performance and very happy. Need to keep it going now and get an unbeaten run going.

61% possession stats in our favour....that's impressive

Let's hope the team learn from this today, especially the workrate, energy & tempo
