Yes, he's had a few off months but for crying out loud, he's our top goalscorer and has never played a game this season that hasn't consisted of him giving 100%. Had he been signed for a lower fee, he wouldn't be such a hate figure.

He did enough in his head to make sure he had a payday somewhere, a little purple patch means jackshit in terms of his overall time at the 'bok.
Now he's back with the banjo's and barn doors.
Nowhere near the worst player this season though, not by a long shot!
I agree not the worst probs the most dissapointing tho'
I'd agree, he's been disappointing, but he's also been miles better than his previous two seasons and the fact that he's scored 10 league goals this season makes it a relative success.

Player of the Year: Stuart Holden, by miiiiiiiiiles.
Best signing: Daniel Sturridge, gonna be incredibly hard to repace him.
Worst player: Petrov.
Worst Signing: Petrov.
Favourite Game: 2-1 win over Arsenal, always love beating a top side.
Favourite Goal: The Elmander wonder-goal.
Best Moment: Elmander's wonder-goal or Holden against Blackburn
Worst Moment: Stoke.
Pre-season expectation: Staying up, cup run
Season Rating (/10): 8 but if we keep losing, a 7.
What would you like to see happen this summer: Keep Cahill, somehow keep Sturridge, or replace him with as good a player, keep Al Habsi, Jussi AND Bogdan.
What do you think will happen: Elmander to go, Cahill to stay, Sturridge long gone!

There's no way in the world that Elmander could've possibly disapointed you based on this season, given that prior to this term you thought he was a useless fecking shit wank waste of space donkey. The fact he's ended up our top goalscorer and top assist-er must have made him at least go up slightly in your estimation, even if it's only just to 'crap'.
CrazyHorse wrote:Fook me BWFCi, your expectations are high.

For me a perfect BWFC season is pretty much staying up, taking the cups seriously and managing not to go bankrupt.
If that's a 10/10 perfect season, what did the Megson years score? Sammy Lee would've probably managed two out of those three.

It's a bit arbitary to give anything a score out of ten, but I'd say staying up is a minimum expectation, rather than a signifier of what a perfect season is.

I think 7/8 is fair enough, comfortably above average, bordering on great. I'd be disapointed if it could not possibly get any better than this though, and I think Coyle would share that view.

Anyway.....

Player of the Year: Stuart Holden
Best signing: Daniel Sturridge
Worst player: Martin Petrov
Worst Signing: Martin Petrov
Favourite Game: FA Cup vs Birmingham
Favourite Goal: Mark Davies vs Blackpool
Best Moment: The aftermath of CYL scoring against Birmingham
Worst Moment: Stoke City 5 - 0 Bolton Wanderers. I can barely believe it even typing it out.
Pre-season prediction: 13th
Season Rating (/10): 7.5
What would you like to see happen this summer: Elmander to stay, Sturridge to stay, Cahill to stay, Gardner to stay, Jussi to stay as number one.
What do you think will happen: Cahill and Sturridge to definately not be here. Us to spend less than £10mil.

Elmander has, by his own standards, had a wonderful season.

For my standards, he had a cracking four weeks.

Which is up to you, it's your end of season report. Although even if you remove the entire month or November from his season, he'd still be our top scorer and only three players would have more assists (Davies, Petrov and Taylor).

Which is no doubt why he'll get a move somewhere nice and sunny, and we'll move on, and both sides will try and forget that he ever spent three years here.

I don't think he's been that bad LL. He obviously didn't get on with HWSNBN, all strikers are confidence creatures but he obviously wants a move somewhere with a bit of sun hence him playing out of his skin this season. Just hope OC has got his eye on a replacement with pace, guile and skill and if not what's George Oghani up to?
Pfffft.

Elmander is just a mercenary, he'll be off to the highest bidder and good riddance. His 1st 2 seasons were woeful, this season he has done ok for a few matches, playing for a move ?? How Coyle perseveres with him in midfield is just a mystery, it seems he is just finding a place for him. I agree that others need to look at themselves and although happy with the season as a whole, our away record is something that needs sorting next season. 11 points is the 2nd worst record behind Wolves.

Player of the Year: Super Stu Holden
Best signing: Daniel Sturridge
Worst player: None - I don't think anyone has been consistently shit. More critical people might disagree. Maybe J'Lloyd Samuel for his antics whilst on loan.
Worst Signing: Alonso, though circumstances have been unfortunate
Favourite Game: 3-2 win over Birmingham, best away day for aaaaages
Favourite Goal: LCY's header (closely followed by Holden v Blackburn, Cohen v Arsenal, and Elmo v Stoke)
Best Moment: See Favourite Goal
Worst Moment: Stoke's 3rd goal in the SF
Pre-season expectation: Another solid season in the Prem and hopefully a couple more cup-runs
Season Rating (/10): 7.5

What would you like to see happen this summer: Inquest into our recent shoddy away form. Bogdan loaned to a Championship side for the season, the deadwood players (JOB, JLS) who aren't playing to leave, presume Gardner and Blake are going to be let go as well. Elmo and Sturridge to stay. Cahill's transfer to be + £17M (or cash + a decent player in). Maybe let Taylor go if a decent offer comes in. Complete overhaul of the squad in one transfer window frankly isn't realistic but I still think we'll get 6-7 in.

What do you think will happen: Cahill to leave for good money, Elmo to stay (if the nutjobs stop booing him!), new left-back, centre back, wingers (both R and L), centre-mid and striker. Maybe McEachran and Boyata in on loan.

LOVE the fact that people think Elmander purposefully played well for a month to get a good move. If he could do that, wouldn't he play well for the entire season and go to Barcelona?

He's NOT capable of playing well for an entire season. thats the point.
He's not capable of half a season, maybe a month is all he's capable of ??
For probably our biggest wage earner 1 month or 1 season( if you think he's had a full good season) does not make up for the 2 wasted seasons prior to it.
Lets see who's interested in him if he's that Good ??

And what, he used up his super skillz XP points all in the month of November as a January gamble? Wildly inconsistent, yes, the idea that he can or does pick and choose when to be good is ridicularse.

Indeed.

And lets get excited when Nugent rocks up as his replacement eh?

Elmander will more than likely go somewhere in Europe. A few months into the season unless Coyle has managed to sign Sturridge and another decent goalscorer the same clowns who have been on at the "shit, lazy, useless, donkey" Elmander who sit around me will be on at Coyle for not keeping him, I can guarantee it!
