Just look at the difference Roy Hodgson has made to WBA, in terms of how his tactics & organisation have made them a decent side.
Re: Time to go (2)
When Coyle took over we were 18th with two games in hand over most of the teams above us and 6 points from 10th place.
Coyle has been a disaster for the club.

If we wanted improvement, surely we'd have increased, not decreased, spending?

The team (as most people seemed to agree at the time) shouldn't have been 19th when he took over. It's why we got rid of the feck*.
By the same bollocks logic, Newcastle and West Brom were 21st and 22nd, Swansea 27th, QPR 33rd and Norwich down in the mid 40-somethings.
Go trace how much they've spent since. If OC has cut our wage bill by 25%, we're still in the top 15 or so for wages, in the country.

Peoples agreement or otherwise that we shouldn't have been 19th can't be presented as a pseudo fact. We were 19th. With those players. That had cost loads. Maybe they were just shit players we'd overpaid for? The evidence is more conclusive in that direction than not if we also want to paint Coyle as shit based purely on results.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: Time to go (2)
owen in my oppinion is being unfairly victimised by some people,
ill admit his formation choices and selections do make me grumble sometimes but the big picture is he knows more about the players than we do he can see them week in week out and really he has to choose the best team he can to try and get a result.
hes not anywhere near as bad as some people make out but hes not in the same league as some other bpl managers so our issue is really is he worth it to our club to give him the time to get the team up to his standard (bearing in mind hes no exactly been given a blank cheque book with our squad and had some pretty horrendus injuries
CYL season
Holden season+1
Mears 6 months
alonzo who knows
while he has the allways crocked (gardener Sdavies) and lets be honest lots of players that really dont fit his style of play like (SKD Knight )
and players finishing up there contracts like SKD Knight ect they arent exactly committed to the cause at the moment due to there contracts being up in the summer.
really at this point were not in the worst situation we have a ok team and some potentially decent fixtures what we need right now is not to be making threads derailling the management team and heckling coyle at matches what we need is to get right behind them all of them every bolton player, because right now is when they need it most!
next match is qpr at home they are fighting for their lives right now and were struggling what we do have is our home support we need to cheer every move every pass we need to egg them on get them on the level we are as fans use our passion for the club in a positive manour and remind the visitors that were the team in the driving seat.
that one time it matters most to us we cant be moping around remember all the great things this bpl has given us as a club all those survival sundays all those cup nights all the brilliant players we get to see week in week out playing vs little old bolton, some of you say we dont have a chance and were allready relagated ill never belive were down untill we really are and neither should you so
COYWM lets stay up as next season with the full ability to build his team coyle is gonna prove to us he was worth our faith belive!!!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Time to go (2)
No what can be presented as fact, is that the team didn't finish 19th (nor was it 19th at the time - we were 18th), and it had 2 games in hand. If we thought 19th was pretty good with that squad and that squad was doing the best it could, there would have been no point sacking Megson. I don't believe Megson was sacked because he wasn't playing the beautiful game, he was sacked because the squad was underperforming.Lord Kangana wrote:Peoples agreement or otherwise that we shouldn't have been 19th can't be presented as a pseudo fact. Coyle's squad also finished 14th last season - fact too - so time has obviously moved on since Jan 2010 (or is that not a fact, because it doesn't fit your argument?). But for one result going the other way, the squad (Coyle's squad) would have finished top half.
What can also be presented as fact is he's got rid of some of the people that half the folk on here declared as being shit. Taylor, Elmander and the like.
He's doing shite. For the level of resources he has compared to other teams in the Division. I wouldn't expect him to finish top half - that would be a bonus. I would expect between 17th and 13th/12th.
What about the investment of the 5 teams I mentioned that were in the Champ/Div 1 when Coyle took over - he's had way more than at least three of them in both transfer fees and salary. You haven't commented on how that fits with your line of thinking - probably because it doesn't.
He's also had more than a few of the other teams in the Prem since then in transfers, and has had the benefit over half of the Prem teams in terms of wage bill (although I've every reason to believe that he's cut the wage bill).
He's fooking shite.

The matter will be taken out of our hands. Chelsea can see what we can't - that the only reason we're down in 19th is the lack of backing from the Board. A few more quid we'd be pressing Champions League.bwfcmadlad wrote:I think he should be unless we can pinch AVB now he is a free agent
They'll be in for Owen before Monday, just to show us how little we know.
