Re: mark davies off to swansea
Nixons comments on the move
- There isn't a price Swansea can go to that would work. And they don't pay big enough to turn the player's head. Waste of time
- Don't think Swansea would pay what Bolton want - and not likely to offer wages that would top what he is on.

£4m and he's gone, whether that's to Swansea or not.

Re: mark davies off to swansea
He'll be sold to Reading for about £3million.
Coyle will use the money to buy Junior Stanislas. Or maybe Roger Stanislaus. I'm not sure. Neither's he.
Maybe we could put in a bid for Liam "Slim" Robinson, too.

Re: mark davies off to swansea
I predict that we won't sell unless somebody offers daft money. I.E. £8M+. Before you ask, I'm not ITK, I've got just as much knowledge as you have on the topic. Chairman vehemently denying it on Twitter, manager AND chairman pointing out time and time again that we don't need to sell any of our players. If that's not enough for you, what is?Gail Platz wrote:Go on, what's your prediction then?truewhite15 wrote:I very much doubt it.Gail Platz wrote:£4m and he's gone, whether that's to Swansea or not.
Re: mark davies off to swansea
Davies will be sold for anything over £5 million I reckon. You can't keep an unhappy player so if someone comes in for him with a half decent bid he'll be off. Ditto Lee. If Mavies or Lee are still here at the end of August I'll bare my arse outside Wigan town hall.
On the plus side they'll be replaced (for a simliar fee) by proven Championship players ( ie. proven that they'll only ever play in the Championship)

But why do you reckon that? Where's it been said that either of them are unhappy? Gartside's come out and said that Mavies doesn't even want to go.

I'll bring the pies.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Not now but if the club stand in his way of moving back to the Prem he will be. There are even people on this forum who don't expect him to be in the starting XI this season. He'll see who we've signed, knows what Coyle's like and will want to take the first decent out he's offered.wanderers_on_tour wrote:Is Mark Davies considered a unhappy player now??

That's a fair amount of unsubstansiated assumption buddy. What are you backing it up with?Whookam wrote:Not now but if the club stand in his way of moving back to the Prem he will be. Hopefully Owen had a word and said listen give us a season to get back and if we don't then we'll listen to the offers and let you go back.

For once Coyle is right when he says that Mark Davies has to do a bit more than just the odd dribble every game.
Far from being a proven premiership player IMO.
He will stay and needs to in order to prove himself.

Stay or go, legend or bit part, BWFC continues. I'm just hoping that we get the best of whatever the outcome is.
