"Yes, we have no bananas!" Away to Barrow by the sea. Tues, Sept 3rd 7-45. -45

Sorry if I've missed it but do we know what happened to Randell Williams? Hasn't been seen since the pen miss at Mansfield.

Forino i think also unavailable after being called up by Saint Lucia.
A very good point - https://stluciatimes.com/165766/2024/09 ... ns-league/

So it's JDC-Santos-Johnston unless we wheel in a B-teamer

As far as I can see he hasn't even been *mentioned* since then. Was surprised he didn't pop up last midweek.

The lad Inwood seemed to be one of our more highly rated prospects, and if I recall correctly, got some time in this competition last season. I’d be looking to plug him in next to Santos and Johnston.

Inwood in a back three would be interesting. I've only ever seen him play wingback or fullback.

Does he play there a lot for the Bs?

I thought he was a CB, but I’ve probably got that completely wrong. If only there were any information at all on our official site…

I've only seen him in a handful of B games and the last two preseasons, but he was always down the left.

It could be I've just not seen him play centre back. He's a big enough lad to play wide in a 3, as Conway has at times.

Inwood did indeed get 13 minutes vs United kids - coming on for Randell, which suggests LWB. While I'm looking it up, Matheson and Khumbeni also came on in that game, Matheson in three other games as well, and Sharples-Ahmed at Stockport.

Other Bs/kids to get on the bench last season without being beckoned on: Luke Hutchinson (8 times), Noah Halford (2), Ben Andreucci (2), Conor Lewis (1).

The Bs played this afternoon. Not impossible that someone could appear in both on one day (Gethin did!) but it's unlikely.

Seven Bs on the bench. JDC at centre back.

Cogley in the back three with Forino off on his sunny holiday.

No first team players at all on the bench. No game for Vic, which may add fuel to the rumours Ladapo is coming in and he's off to Turkey.

That's quite an idiotic line up IMO, following Evatt's comments about tiredness & fatigue - I appreciate that there are 11 days until Huddersfield, but surely he could have started 3 or 4 of the younger players, especially the likes of Matheson.

I'm really not arsed about the result, the sooner we get out of this cup the better - if we get injuries tonight its on Evatt.

Aye, Victor is the obvious absentee now alongside Randell.

It is, but it also seems like a very normal managerial "Sort it out!" decision.

He's put 11 first team players out and publicly called for a reaction. He's filled the bench with youth so that any rotation is for the kids.

A compromise, but one focused mainly on the idea that the players owe people a performance.

Barrow (I keep wanting to say Carlisle) have rotated quite a bit. Would be ideal if we could grab a few and get some of these lads subbed off early.

Absolutely not agreeing with a first team on a night like tonight. Just too big a risk.

Interesting lineup.

Not sure why we are playing Baxter when we've got Southwood and Coleman waiting for a game. Presumably both injured or out of favour (perhaps the case with Coleman).

Evatt probably looking at this and going Pizza cup, time to give the youngsters a go.

Player unrest in the squad perhaps, or just extra recovery time?

I would probably hazard a guess and say they've been allowed to go on their week off early so they're back in training earlier with a view to the next league games fixture. If they're not going to appear in today's game, why keep them around if there's a scheduled holiday in the works calendar?

All things under consideration, you'd've thought the likes of Coleman, Southwood, Adeboyejo, Williams, etc. would've been somewhere near that squad.

The result no. Not at all. Which was my original point - and I said - I would be perfectly happy playing kids taking the fine, losing and moving on.

Southwood will be with Northern Ireland, won't he? I thought it was odd too, but it just clicked with me a minute ago.

Have I mis read this post ? as he's not giving any of the youngsters a go - not one in the starting XI
