I mean that’s an absolute disgrace to concede like that again. If that doesn’t sum up our issues with Evatt I don’t know what does. He just doesn’t learn.

Something about thinking we're going to just roll teams over. The mentality from some is shocking. 100% effort and respect the opponent, regardless.
Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock
This is exactly the problem we've got. The standards of the last few matches just haven't been met. Basics aren't being done and the nerves have seeped in and the fans are likely to get restless here.
We should be beating these. As it stands, we're so sloppy in the final pass its ridiculous.
Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock
Not a single one of those chipped balls down the line by Toal have any impact whatsoever. All these players, all this talent and our main idea to start an attack is give it to Toal and chip it down the line.
Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock
We had a lot of success with chipped through balls through the middle from Sheehan. Unable to play those balls today given Shrewsbury have 10 behind the ball each time.
We look tired and reactive.
We were bound to hit a rough patch. Here's a clear test as to us needing to dig ourselves out of a mess.
Cue the boos.

Sorry but there is no defending that. As turgid as it gets.
Poor defence is why we're losing. Attack is why we've not scored. JDC in good positions and the final third play was abysmal.
That said Vic and Dion have done absolutely nothing.

Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock
Well that's a pathetic half.
Not quick enough, not fast in transition and just woefully poor passing up top when we get into a good position.
How JDC hasn't been dropped for failing to find a pass in the final third I don't know. Clearly a decent player in all but the pass. As it stands the ball gets to him and we end up turning over possession again and again. Crying out for width that can find a man.
It's like we're playing with 9 men. We've not been able to get Charles or Adeboyejo into the game as it stands.

Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock
Was going to say, I’m sure Shipley has scored that goal against us before. But then, most teams have, and that is an indictment of how we are prepared. Is it still Craddock’s fault?
Worthy pointed out a couple of times this week that it’s fine to concede 2 if you score 4 or 5, much less so if you score fewer than three. Well, in four home league games we’ve scored 0, 0, 5 and (so far) 0. Very Evattian; not good enough.

It’s simply down to the attitude of the players. Sat off them. Showed no intensity. No desire. They can’t be bothered and why should anyone else be?
Has to be a better second half but regardless the first half shows all our problems with poor mentality and lack of intensity and desire - which you need every minute always - it’s too inconsistent. And there is no excuse for that. The bare minimum is to be right at it. They too often don’t hit the bare minimum.

Well the strikers have been rotated. The midfielders haven’t. The gameplan certainly hasn’t. When we need a plan B we look fecking clueless. If we’re relying on Josh Dacres-Cogley Cogley to provide the ammunition second half we might as well give up now. He wouldn’t know a good cross if he was nailed to one, and he should be!

How many rough patches does a team have in 9 games ? and this is against a team who haven't won all season and their keeper hasn't had a save to make.
Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock
It's awful, it shows nothing has changed that's the main thing for me. It's no different to how we've been for a long time. A few good results can't mask it, evatt can't take us any further he said it himself, he doesn't know what to do, he has no solutions. This isn't a player problem it's a manager problem.

Is anybody really surprised? Read the thread title and the bit about clean sheets and parking the bus.. Everybody talks strikers but our defence is a shambles. That's the reason we're losing, not who plays up front. In short, we're just another team and unless we learn to play Moss Bank Rovers football, we'll lose more. I'll still go with hope, but miracles don't happen in football.

Si Deus pro nobis, quis contra nos?

Haven’t even got onto the two goals we conceded which are amateur hour. What does Evatt and his coaching staff do all week? Stealing a living.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:54 pmI might have mentioned this once or twice. CAN SOMEONE TELL THIS LOT HOW TO DEFEND!!!!!

You expecting this team not to have to overcome a problem? Or not to run into any issues?Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:54 pmAre you for real ?, bound to hit another rough patch !Mar wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:47 pmWe had a lot of success with chipped through balls through the middle from Sheehan. By rough patch I meant being a goal down, or having to overcome a tough defensive block. I'm not saying have a succession of defeats, but just have something that is really going to test us.
Wasn't expecting it to come against Shrewsbury though. This has been shocking.
Re: The unguarded moment. At Home to Shrewsbury Sat Oct 54th 3'0 clock
Insane, I believe this entirely down to Evatt.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 3:53 pmIt’s simply down to the attitude of the players. Sat off them. Showed no intensity. No desire. They can’t be bothered and why should anyone else be?

- Thinking this would be a walk in the park, decides to revert to his style of play "to practice it"
- Result as expected
No game-plan, players look lost
- Nothing changes
- This is the true colours of Evatt
- Looking forward to his excuses
