We've lost one in the last nine, to a ninety second minute goal. Dissapointing, but certainly not taking away from an excellent run. Too little? ....And it's only too late when it mathematically is, which it isn't yet by some way.bw@bw wrote:And now Brighton are beating Palace

Re: Biggest game of the season - Brighton @ Home
I said people were wrong to rule our promotion chances out a month or so ago, when it was looking far less likely than it is now, so I have no pessimism at the moment. Brighton winning today doesn't really change much. We're behind a bit but if we can carry on winning games at the rate we have been, we'll get into the play off spots. It's in our hands because they will slip up at some point, so we just need to play well, be consistent and hope for the best.
It's certainly not off though. Brightons and Forests wins weren't ideal given our loss but this isn't over yet. Put it one way, there won't be a single Brighton or Forest fan who is ruling us out. They'll be saying "the loss to Ipswich was a blip, you don't win 5 games in a row for no reason" and that is probably a realistic view.

The next game, away to Charlton, will be the telling one. Real good spell then a step-back. If we recover and go on then there's little need to worry. Two home games after that and we could be right back in there.

Indeed, our away form is about the worst in the division. We will need at least 2 more away wins.TANGODANCER wrote:The next game, away to Charlton, will be the telling one. One of those will almost certainly have to come from Charlton.

Yeah, I think this is pretty much a make or break game. We need to keep pressure on the teams above us and even though it'll still be mathematically possible if we lose and they win, it'll be a big ask.TANGODANCER wrote:The next game, away to Charlton, will be the telling one. Hopefully we bounce back well and return to winning ways.

is a "make or break" game bigger than the "biggest game of the season"? how does this all work??SmokinFrazier wrote:Yeah, I think this is pretty much a make or break game. Apparently Brighton have given Poyet permission to talk to Reading. Interesting move. Can't see it helping Brighton.

A little surprised by this (from Brighton's perspective), Poyet was on my list of "non-bogeyman" managers to have a punt at when we belatedly told Mr Coyle, not to let the door hit his ass on the way out.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Apparently Brighton have given Poyet permission to talk to Reading.
