Thought Medo was our best player actually despite his awful tackle.

Chungy and Tierney looked awful. The others just bad.

It's one thing to say the centre halfs are shit, but someone is telling Zat Knight and David Wheater to try to play offside.

Spearing was poor, the rest were shite.
We are caught between a rock and a hard place with Wheater and Knight. If they don't squeeze up we surrender a lot of the pitch and our midfield can't cover the ground.

If they do they are susceptible.

See Simon Charlton saying Knight needs to push the back four higher up the pitch against Reading in the second half. It's true, but......

I agree that Eagles would improve us going forward but we shouldn't need to rely on him to create something. Dawson would improve us defensively too but, again, we shouldn't need to rely on him to make us more solid. Why can't the team just play good football in order to create chances and why can't our defence be well drilled enough to not let two shambolic goals in? These are problems with tactics, not the players. There are plenty of lesser teams in the league than ours - including Forest - but they play better football than us, create more chances and defend better.

It's easy to always say "oh, well we need to improve ____ before we start winning games". Bring in Dawson and people will say "we need to bring in a better striker" or "we need a better winger". It's never ending. We should look at the team we have and how to get the best out of them, and right now, we are in a privileged position to have such a strong squad already. but the issue is, we aren't getting the best out of those players. Replacing the weak players with better ones will help but it won't fix the fundamental problems with our team. Is our defence perfect? No, it's not, but bringing Dawson in won't stop awful defending like we saw today. Bringing Eagles back won't turn us into a side which creates many chances.

The players are fine. Not perfect but that's not the weak part of our set-up either. Why are we incapable of passing the ball properly? Why can't we create chances? Why are our strikers always stranded? Why can't we defend? Why do we continuously boot up long balls to lone strikers? Why do we allow every team far too much space outside the box? Are these all issues with the individuals or is it a problem with how the individuals are being instructed?

Do you really believe that he has not yet been able to find a better CB than Knight ?

You could have saved ten minutes by just writing its all Freedman's fault.

It's not and you can't. You just cannot do it with those two. Mackie's goal today, Ings' goal on the opening day and a number of chances today from straight, hopefull balls through the middle. You can give Wheater 10 yards and still beat him. I know it makes it harder to get back, but that's a sacrifice you have to make if you are picking those two. It's absolute suicide otherwise.

Also, I've seen their third and particulary second goals a number of times and I can't even find Baptiste!

easily done - but i think you are possibly responding to the poster's name rather than the content of the post - cos there's a lot of sense in there, surely? management is about getting the best out of the squad you have - squeezing out every point possible from what you have at your disposal. yes - it is early days - and I certainly have not given up on promotion - but it can't JUST be about buying a new player - can we - hand on heart - say that the bunch that we currently have are performing to their absolute peak? i don't really think we can.

Obviously he hasn't. He has 4 shit centre backs on large contracts, he's hardly got a decent hand to play in the transfer market unless Eddie coughs up or he can persuade someone to part with somebody for an out of date easter egg.

Meanwhile we have Mills who seems to have disappeared. Ream who couldn't couldn't stop a forward line of 5 year old girls. Not too many options. Give the man a few weeks to play the transfer market before we descend into end of the world territory...

Aye, anyone who thinks Knight is the only major problem in our defence isn't looking very closely.
