Re: What are you playing tonight?
Was listening to the musical version of Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds last night (the new generation).
Why can't they just leave things alone? Why do we need a 2012 remake with Gary Barlow and the like? It just feels wrong listening to it
78 version all the way for me personally.

It is very difficult to listen to it without Richard Burton's voice as narrator.ChrisC wrote:Was listening to the musical version of Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds last night (the new generation).

It's made perfectly competently, but not really an improvement.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I've still got the 2-disc vynil version of this, complete with cover and original booklet in mint condition. It's only ever been played once (I recorded it and have always used that, on cassette believe it or no). Do people still collect these things?ChrisC wrote:Was listening to the musical version of Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds last night (the new generation).

That would be collectable ... although it did sell a good number, so I doubt it'll be your fortune T.TANGODANCER wrote:I've still got the 2-disc vynil version of this, complete with cover and original booklet in mint condition. Re: What are you playing tonight?
Been listening to Mumford & Sons 2nd album Babel a lot today. On my first couple of listens I was sure it wouldn't come close to their debut album but on reflection - it's also a cracker.
