Cheers, mate. No, you're right, but I hadn't done a tap since Saturday and was itching. Bizarrely, whilst running I felt completely free of cold, yet now I'm home I'm back to where I was with it.Gary the Enfield wrote:Well done. Although personally I'd have left it altogether. One day not running wouldn't hurt.
Hope your cold clears up soon.

Try antihistamine, works a treat for itching.Bruce Rioja wrote:Cheers, mate. No, you're right, but I hadn't done a tap since Saturday and was itching. Try standing a bit further away from the fire?

After a couple of dodgy runs, I felt much stronger on today's parkrun. Bounced back with a new PB of 27.15 improving on my previous best by 40 seconds. A total improvement of 3.5 mins from my first parkrun.

Stop improving you Bastich. You'll be beating MY times soon. Well done.
Yesterday, in preparation for our midweek league race season, I joined the 45 to 50 mi ute group (for 10k). The session was a.1 mile warm up followed by 8 x 3 min. uphill efforts at 10k pace with a jog recovery. This morning I'm taking Mrs GtE round the 5k course she is preparing to race next week as part of her new found running bug.
Tomorrow I'm going to work for a rest.

Bolton 10k next week, marshalling with Bruce, who has a diplomatic role involving politely asking motorists to wait for gaps in the field. What could go wrong?
760 entries already, record field almost guaranteed.

Does anyone know of any of the high street sports shops which offer a foot measuring service? I'm currently struggling with blisters and suspect that I need a wider fitted running shoe.

Sweatshop do. Not sure if they are up there. There are Nike shops that do gait analysis - perhap in the Trafford Centre? What about Len Tobutts or maybe Decathlon?

Tobbutts do. They charge you for it but knock the cost off any trainers you subsequently buy from them.Gary the Enfield wrote:Burnden Paddock wrote:Does anyone know of any of the high street sports shops which offer a foot measuring service?
