Probably won't be there tomorrow but maybe next week.

Hope to see you next week.

Horton park pr those morning. Felt awful and ran miles slower than last week but a interesting friendly event just next to the remains of the old Bradford Park Avenue ground, abandoned to football 30 years ago and now used for cricket. You can still see the walls with the old turnstiles but I didn't explore too much as I was freezing the old tadger off.

Drove past it once and noticed that. I'm gripped by the nostalgia of old football grounds. Have to be 'reasonably' pleased with this morning. 1:02 behind my average for LHP and only 42 seconds behind my time at WW. That said, WW was my first run in seven weeks and today was only my third, so getting there. Talking with CW at the track - he reckons I should get a few more at LHP under my belt then go back to WW to see if I can get myself a time. I like that ideaLeverEnd wrote:Horton park pr those morning. However, and this is most important. After weeks of pushing food around the breakfast plate and leaving most of it, I was fecking monumental this morning. I'm on a drive now to resettle the balance

I'm thinking of dragging my sorry arse out of bed at 7.30 on a Saturday to do park run. No way I'm getting up without brekkie on the agenda though. Bruce, BP, Beefy - any of you playing out?

Just back from the marathon.
I was marshalling on mile 18. Been on my feet for 10 hours cheering and clapping and willing everyone on from the first wheelchair racers through to the 6 hour 'runners'. A genuinely positive and uplifting experience. Will be there again next year I think.

Re: The athletics/running thread
After park run and a three hour walk over the moors with the dog yesterday I was a bit weary turning up for the Rivington 10 mile trail race this morning. I was even more put out when the lass on registration looked in disdain at the tenner in my hand and told me it was £17 to enter
. I'm glad I coughed up for it though - a tough run through Rivington, white coppice, up on to great hill and back again.

I got a t-shirt, a baseball cap and a badge. Free travel on the tube and a bacon roll. My hands are swollen from nearly 6 staight hours of clapping and high fiving and I 've lost my voice from shouting. Fair exchange.
