Wow, that's terrible. Surely they'd know he had papers or he couldn't have boarded in the first place? Hope the thief's fingers rot and fall off.thebish wrote:my sister is over from canada in the UK - I am conducting her wedding service on saturday. her son (and 1yr old grandson) has just arrived at heathrow from canada to be here for the wedding. on the flight someone stole his bag containing all his papers and his wallet. because he has no travel papers - he has been instantly deported back to canada with no money and no papers... my sister is in tears...

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
I didn't park where i shouldn't and it might well be my fault, but am still gonna appeal against it.
Went to a parent and toddler group yesterday for the first time and parked in the hall car park, went in, had a nice time, got out to find a huge fine on my car. Apparantly a couple of weeks ago they changed it from free parking (which it was when i last used the hall for something else) to parking where you have to buy a disc from inside (still not entirely sure how the system works) Yes, there were signs up but i have to say i didn't notice them, i was too busy trying to get two wriggly babies in a pushchair as i was running late and it didn't even occur to me that things might have changed. 4 other mums got caught out too, so the leader of the toddler group has written a letter for us to send with our appeal. Dunno if it will work :-S

Is it Adam and Eve's fault I'm depraved then?
Original sin? What a load of pish. If this god bloke is real, which he isn't, he is a massive cnut. It is the only logical explanation.

Le deuxieme, hoboh, as they say in Quebec... I view the new and revamped border agency as Cameron's concession to his right wing... It is having all kinds of unfortunate effects, and not just on wedding guests... Not sure how well it's doing on his 'stopping the nation being flooded by foreigners agenda...'.Hoboh wrote:Or numpty jobsworths who haven't got two mins to contact Canadian counterparts who could have proberbly sorted it out!!!William the White wrote:I'm sleeping soundly tonight knowing the border agency are doing a good job guarding the frontiers of our kingdom...thebish wrote:my sister is over from canada in the UK - I am conducting her wedding service on saturday. her son (and 1yr old grandson) has just arrived at heathrow from canada to be here for the wedding. on the flight someone stole his bag containing all his papers and his wallet. because he has no travel papers - he has been instantly deported back to canada with no money and no papers... my sister is in tears...

Though it may do better than Ian Duncan Smith's appeal to British employers to employ British workers... the day before awarding the contract for new rail rolling stock to a German company...

How long does the "its the previous lot's fault" wash before somebody says "actually, you won the election, you're in charge"?
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

The train contract in particular pissed me off. Governments do have the discretion and power to overirde previous decisions, should they wish to. The truth is, they should have been honest and pointed out that they don't believe in protectionism (rightly or wrongly) rather than the cheap political point scoring which they fell back on.
If you're referring to the Murdoch business, tell me something I didn't know. We've had his choice of governance for the past 3 decades. Something hit the buffers. Perhaps the fly-in-the-ointment was the Lib Dems?

Re: Today I'm angry about.....
The true vileness of his group's actions comes to light only because of the hacking (and deleting!!!) of emails from a kidnapped and murdered young teenage girl... The rest they could have got away with, but this proves the depth of the cesspit from which we as people need to rise... that outrage changed everything...Lord Kangana wrote:The train contract in particular pissed me off. They could have done anything they wanted to politicians and celebs, however corrupt and illegal, but this single step transforms everything... It has already cost them billions... and, even more interesting and threatening, US senators are starting to nose...
Oh, please... Let the monsters have been crapping in the swamp there as well... Lawyers are rubbing their hands, and jailers polishing their keys...

What price did Bombardier quote for the job? What price did Siemens, the contract winners, quote for the job? Just wondering like.William the White wrote:Though it may do better than Ian Duncan Smith's appeal to British employers to employ British workers... the day before awarding the contract for new rail rolling stock to a German company...
Incidentally there will be a number of Siemens maintenance depot engineers in Hebburn (British workers, I do believe) who will be very happy with the outcome of this deal.
This is another political football Will. I thought you despised them.
