The athletics/running thread

If you have a life outside of BWFC, then this is the place to tell us all about your toilet habits, and those bizarre fetishes.......

In the words of Mr H Genshaw - I've never done a run in my life that I couldn't have bailed out of within the first 1K.

Anyway, who's there tomorrow? Just me and LeverEnd's lil sis again?

Our running crew's falling apart like a British political party. :)

Keep at it Bruce. I'll join you again one day.

'Taper' week with a 70 mile bike ride followed by a 1 jour (7 mile) run. Nearly there now.

It was the Lakeland 110k ultra yesterday which I entered last September fully expecting to get injured before the start day. Without a doubt it's the hardest thing I'll ever do. Beautiful scenery, at times shocking weather conditions, treacherous terrain and ridiculous mountain climbs and descents. Feet, knees and quads are all fecked! Never ever again :|

:D I'd spent months telling myself it was 66 miles based on 11 lots of 10k and 10ks being just a little over 6 miles. 68.75 I'll have you know! Everyone after about mile 22 was bloody agony!

Today, I thought I'd emulate HG and do 110k. In the event, I only ended 65.2 miles short. Still always goid when you can still knock best part of 2 minutes off a PB. :-)

In my case, bit like doubling the high jump bar from 1ft to 2ft... :-) Plenty to go at. :-)
