A rumor no doubt started by Allardyce himself.

Re: January transfer window...
Well who else would start it really?
Anyway, what about Stephen Ireland? He's free to leave Villa. He's a bit unstable and central midfield may not be our top priority but he is a quality player. Somebody will bring up the fact that he slighted us in the past but I thought that was overblown.

Re: January transfer window...
I don't think Ireland is mentally stable enough to play for the Wanderers. Would have been a great 'fixer upper' for Sam

You're the one saying "no doubt".H. Pedersen wrote:Well who else would start it really?
If it was rumoured at all then the club have a rich history of announcing which 'Gallacticos' they're in the market for, usually when season tickets become available. I may be wrong but I wouldn't have thought that Allardyce's earings were attendance linked.

Re: January transfer window...
No but it might gratify his giant ego. I have a sneaking suspicion - and it's only a suspicion - that Allardyce put in an inquiry for every player who looked half decent so he could later claim "I tried to sign Drogba/Van Der Sar/Sergio Ramos."
Re: January transfer window...
Not fussed about him claiming when he's signed the likes of Okocha, Youri, Hierro, Campo, Anelka etc. On the negative side he did sign Pezzarossi, Fadiga, Jardel and Ba

Fadiga was a fooking good signing. Inter had only recently paid £10m for him. Bloody good footballer. Sadlly, he had a dicky ticker. I'm not having that it wasn't worth the risk, we had supposedly the 2nd best medical and sports science team in Europe at the time.
You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Re: January transfer window...
When Fadiga dribbled the ball in the second half at ewok it looked like the ball was tied to his shoe laces.
I liked him.

I would purchase a sniper rifle if he signed for us!H. Pedersen wrote:Well who else would start it really?

Definitely not shopped Pedders, it's a well known fact that's the colour of his rims.
As for Fadiga, I meant with the dicker ticker, not his footballing ability. Because by all accounts Jardel was a great goalscorer. It was his mental state that fecked it up for him.

and his addiction to pies and pints of lard to wash them down
Re: January transfer window...
Ireland looks utterly lost at Villa at the moment and a shadow of the player that looked so excellent at City.
Firstly I doubt he want to come to us, and secondly, why would we want to upset the midfield 3 we are currently rotating with some billy big bollocks that thinks he's the shit? I doubt he'd want to play for us anyway unless we pay him insane money (that we probably don't have) and again, it seems the lads we currently have are proud to be, and want to continue to be, Bolton players.

Ireland is off to West Ham Avram Grant stated after the Fulham game
Re: January transfer window...
Can't see that happening as they are signing Sidwell, who are they likely to drop from Noble/Parker/Sidwell to make way for Ireland?spikeykev wrote:Ireland is off to West Ham Avram Grant stated after the Fulham game

Re: January transfer window...
Perhaps we could take Parker off their hands? Maybe not in January but when West Ham are in the Championship..again.

Re: January transfer window...
Decent enough player but he's had his flirtation with the North when he went to the Geordies. Plus we won't have the extortionate levels of money they would want for him
