Do you consider your team to have been formed in 1874 or 1877?
1874 - cos that makes us older than Blackburn!

Christchurch FC was formed in 1874 and became Bolton Wanderers in 1877.
I have seen merchandise over the years with BOTH dates stated as the est. date.
Do Manchester United count their days as Newton Heath? Or do Arsenal include their Woolwich days?
Whaddya reckon?
Ask bobo, he'll remember

And we count our woolwich years!

Re: Megson Watch
I thought Bolton had won the FA Cup 5 times between 1872-1878

Another one for the "You couldn't make it up" thread.
I'm sure that I can hear the sound of exploding Wolves fans - and I'm 50 miles from Wolverhampton!

If he gets the job, and if it's before we play them, it's nailed on for them to rip us to smithereens.

Nailed on for 10 games of sheer abuse if he took that. It would make his time with us seem like a love-in.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

It's ruse by the board I reckon.
Fans didn't want Bruce - board still do.
Therefore tell fans they getting Megson = Bruce welcomed with open arms.

He's such a c*nt that he'd take it just for the chance to play us.

Megson, who has also managed Norwich, Stoke, Nottingham Forest and Leicester, is also ready to run a potential gauntlet of fan abuse to resume a largely successful careerZulus Thousand of em wrote:http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Wo ... 78417.html

Where did his largely successful career happen? I guess it must be West Brom, who don't even get a mention.
He's got a thicker skin than Sepp fecking Blatter.
That said, I have a bad karmic feeling about this...

Re: Megson Watch
All I have to say on this.
To be fair to Megson he guided us to our the highest finish in our history at County, complete with a magnificent victory of citeh and wins at Wolves and the Reebok.
Football may have turned a bit negative and dull - but he did do that for us.
That said I'm convinced had we been able to keep the 96-97 promotion/cup run team together that we'd have been knocking on the door of the Premiership the following year.
