It's at the centre of things, don't you know. Very fashionable. and it's the only place in London you can get a mobile signal.

I once had my carphone (remember them?) cloned (does that still happen?) in Londinium town where the beasties roam, and the clever devils at the phone company actually tracked the moment of clone-age to me driving under the archway at Archway

Ok, then - there's a really good burrito place across the road, next to the Co-Op.

Road signs: summat i often wonder, when you’re driving down the motorway and you pass a roadsign that (for example) reads ‘Liverpool 25, Manchester 28’ – where abouts in Liverpool or Manchester are the points 25 and 28 miles away? Is there a recognised datum point in the town centre, is it the geographical boundary or is it the mway junction??

Apparently all mileages to London are to Marble Arch, but other than for that I've no idea!

I thought it was Charing Cross .... the actual 'Eleanor cross' ?

I've had a letter from a company in Manchester that go by the name of Randall and Vickers who proudly boast themselves as being 'Consumer Champions' no less.

Anyhoooo, the reason they say they've written to me is because they think I'm paying too much Council Tax. They go on to claim that some of my neighbours were also paying CT in the same band as me but have now been reclassified.

This might stack up as in my old house I had a long-running dispute with Salford Council over my CT banding which eventually led to them writing a sniveling apology and enclosing a cheque.

So anyway, if I allow Randall & Vickers to represent me then they want 30% of any cash I get, so to put it bluntly, they can go feck themselves. Thing is - how do I find out for myself? I'm sure it must be do-able same as the PPI stuff.

PS. I live back in Bolton again now.
