This has to be a publicity stunt, I can only assume, when looking at this guys background.
Re: The breaking News thread...
Sounds like he has a bit of a murky past, but if he's actually rich who gives a shit. I'd still wait to hear more before believing it's a genuine bid.

given oil prices atm i'm surprised he's not worried about other things.
Nero fiddles while Gordon Burns.

Seems like he did in the Middle East what United Fruit did in Central America. Only with oil instead of bananas, but both with CIA backing.KeyserSoze wrote:given oil prices atm i'm surprised he's not worried about other things.

Look, it must be true and genuine as it's reported in the same paper that you've believed everything else from...BWFC_Insane wrote:This has to be a publicity stunt, I can only assume, when looking at this guys background.

Suspect he doesn't worry about much.

It now says Tamraz "is an international baller who is interested in buying Bolton Wanderers Football Club just to have full ownership on his man crush Monday, Gary Madine."HMX wrote:Somebody wasted no time updating his wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roger_Tamraz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
In 2016 he expressed an interest in buying Bolton Wanderers Football Club with a view to returning it back to being a Community Club

The bloke's representative has made a public statement. That is why it is reported.Worthy4England wrote:Look, it must be true and genuine as it's reported in the same paper that you've believed everything else from...BWFC_Insane wrote:This has to be a publicity stunt, I can only assume, when looking at this guys background.

Just doesn't make that much sense and he seems a character. We'll see. Wonder why they have gone public with it?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Care to expand?BWFC_Insane wrote:This has to be a publicity stunt, I can only assume, when looking at this guys background.

I knew you'd come riding to his aide. Isle's can't keep scthum. Had he had any idea about this he'd have been dropping his never-so-subtle I-know-something-you-don't-know type comments in. He can't help himself. Furthermore he wouldn't have publicly been so vocal in trying to hurry things along. So yes, I do assume that Iles hasn't known about this or been investigating.BWFC_Insane wrote:You assume that Iles hasn't known about this or been investigating....Bruce Rioja wrote:Then he should've done more research rather than fannying about giving it the big I Am on Twitter, the egregious prick.throwawayboltonian wrote:To be fair both Iles and Nixon have said all along that there's been at least 4(?) interested parties, including SSC and the ST too I think. What did Nixon say when you dumped him for Isles?

But. But...if this is right, and everything becomes reet, and I'm asking you all to seriously cast your imagination into the future... really, is liquidation a far more noble affair than giving ALL our opposition the opportunity to fire Tampax based chants at us... Come on, let's sack this fxcking billionaire off now!

Re: The breaking News thread...
They are about the only people regularly reporting on this. Iles knows a lot he can't say. People don't like him. I think he's alreet meself and does a decent job in very difficult circumstances. Bit soft at times and bit kind to certain people but he seems alright to me.Bruce Rioja wrote:I knew you'd come riding to his aide. Isle's can't keep scthum. Point is - you believe what's written in the BN and quote it as gospel when it fits...and not when it doesn't - get a grip, man!BWFC_Insane wrote:The bloke's representative has made a public statement. There isn't anything to believe. They've made a statement. Bolton news aren't saying this is a genuine bid though.Worthy4England wrote:Point is - you believe what's written in the BN and quote it as gospel when it fits...and not when it doesn't - get a grip, man!BWFC_Insane wrote:The bloke's representative has made a public statement. I don't disbelieve the statement. Just whether this is a real option. Doesn't make much sense, but then I suppose these things never do.

@MarcIles Roger Tamraz? You heard anything
Marc Iles
@MarcIles
@ShaunyMyers not a name I know, but can check.
Which would suggest somebody has known about his interest for a while. Anyway, this will patently not end well. My Stanford-sense is tingling.
