Just discovered San Pellegrino Liminata and Arunciata - Lemonade/Orangeade made from sparkling water (San Pellegrino sparkling water, which is distinctive). Very nice. All I need now is to source a regular supply.

Ah, posh pop, my favourite. That stuff's another of the reasons that I travel up to Booths in Chorley. The nearest Booths to you will probably be the one in Wilmslow if you're ever over that way, or at Media City if you have to go into Mancunia. San Pellegrino is the only bottled water I buy, too.

Went to Le Verre Volé in Paris on monday lunchtime for a last-day nice meal. Had a starter consisting of artichoke hearts, along with cured bacon and in a garlic sauce with seasonal veg.

main was angus beef with mushrooms, salad, new potatoes onions, all in a lovely meaty gravy.

The pop definitely. Not sure about the water. Lemon or Orange. Little Miss GtE had some over Easter.

Just looked it up, ocado have it on their online store. Sure others have it.

Oh, and it's not just water... you've obviously never tried it, it has a distinctive flavour and is naturally carbonated. Do you put tap water in your G&T?

Liver and bacon with onions, a much underrated dish which is easy to make. Found a bottle of S African red someone gave me, a blend of Shiraz/Mourvedre/Viognier. It's very nice decided to sit up and watch a Doors gig until I finish it.

The wine is great. I just ate it with carrots. I'd been grazing for a while on all sorts of body par... I mean snacks.

I've always wanted to like liver, the chicken livers at the pub i worked at always smelled amazing, but bleurgh! That 'offal' aftertaste!

Went to the James Martin restaurant in Manchester a couple of weeks ago. The food was great but very pricey. I had "Seared West Coast Hand Dived Scallops" for starter at £10.50. Although they were nice it only came with two scallops.

Then a 10oz Rib Eye steak which came with five chips and three onion rings. At £26 it was still a bit expensive but the best steak I've ever had.

With drinks the bill came to £115 per couple. Good food but I wish I'd eaten before I went out.

Would I go again? Probably but it would have to be a very special occasion.

I'm not sure it makes them more tasty but it must make them more expensive.
