"mongoloid" is a fecking mega devo single. similarly , watch life "aquatic with steve zissou" for that film's music (by the devo guy) .. and for bill murray.
if you wanna watch a golf film , watch the sappy disney (?) "The Greatest Game Ever Played" , although the dick from the shit transformer films is in it. so its the same quandry.
that bill paxton aliens/newordervideo/apolo13 actor guy directs it. so that might be a point in its favour.
i've seen the golf one, but not steve zissou. i know "..zissou" is pretty good though. and i know the latters music/score is top.
the golf one is a miles better bet than adam derpface's film.
BOOM

You're a good man General, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.General Mannerheim wrote:i like the Wedding Singer and happy gilmore, but his best film is far and away 'Punch Drunk Love' brilliant film. For Adam Sandler...Happy Gilmore and The Wedding Singer....possibly Big Daddy and that's it...everything else is shite.
Punch Drunk Love is sublime. Paul Thomas Anderson took the latent anger and isolation of his characters in the madcap comedies and made a semi-serious film out of it. A semi-serious classic.
Sandler can act. Who knew?

Re: What are you watching tonight?
I watched Derek last night. Not sure what I made of it to be honest other than Karl Pilkington played the character of Karl Pilkington - which isnt such a bad thing I suppose - and also I bet Gervais' jaw ached something rotten after filming finished seen as he walked around with that slack-jawed expression all episode.
It felt to me like the entire series of The Office squeezed into half an hour; a whistlestop tour of some oddball characters such as a member of staff stuck in a mind numbing job and struggling to find love. Then by the end of it, one of them actually standing up to bullies in a slightly out of character way (Brent telling Finchy to f-off/the nurse giving the girl in the pub a slap), and then eventually the frustrated staff member finally finding love and walking off into the sunset.

Depends. If your planner, like mine, has been raided by the missus and consists of 20 consecutive unwatched episodes of "Come Dine With Me", a full week's worth of "60 Minute Makeover" episodes so she can ffwd through to the last 5 minutes to watch what theyve done to the house, and a whole wad of "CSI Miami/Vegas/New sodding York" (why so many different series' of the same thing?!) - then just watch it to show that you do have some use for the planner! But otherwise, youre not missing much.
One thing that's always boiled my piss about CSI, is how come they always seem to have the exact gadget for a specific crime? Oh, we found some flakes of nail varnish near the crime scene - but its okay we've got this Nail Varnish Analysis machine that we can feed them into and it will tell us exactly where it was bought, when, and who was wearing it. And Ted Danson?! Come on! Should be ashamed of yourself!

the missus and daughter watch this avidly..
my favourite CSI moment was when a murder had been committed while someone was making a pot on a potters wheel... they took the pot and attached it to a record-player type laser machine that read the grooves made by the audio waves in the room at the time of the murder - and played back the whole scene - thus identifying the murderer!!
I love their databases too!! one week they had a database of lace-eyelets from footwear that traced a unique eyelet to a rare training shoe attached to a list of all outlets selling that trainer within 100yds of the suspects home address...
their most irritating trait, though, I think, is there tag-team dialogue where they explain to each other the "science" that they all should understand for the benefit of the viewer! arghhhh!!
