Baptiste, Is not Lennons signing. If it funds a player Lennon wants to sign (Osede), then I'm happy!
Lennon ain't going anywhere! you have my word, you know I'm good for it!

Baptist may well have improved at centre back, but I can't believe that would have been the case given his appalling decision making, albeit at makeshift left back. How a bloke can dive in so badly 5 times in a season is beyond me. It got to the point where I seriously thought he was doing it on purpose. No loss.

never convinced by what I saw, but gave some benefit of doubt because played out of position and seemed to get rave reviews at other places. If he really was on the reported £17kpw we are well rid. Wonder what Boro are paying himBijou Bob wrote:Baptist may well have improved at centre back, but I can't believe that would have been the case given his appalling decision making, albeit at makeshift left back. Potentially a penalty against us per game with him in the side!!! Absolutely no loss to us whatsoever, good riddance and hello decent wage potential !!
And at the time Derby were in for him,he was reported to be asking for 28k p/w!!!

that £17k if true was basic, there is a rumour that his basic was £24k
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

If that's even close to try then fck that was a lot and, as said earlier, shows the spending power we still had only 2 years ago.jaffka wrote:that £17k if true was basic, there is a rumour that his basic was £24k
I still liked him ... except for that stupid run of rash decisions & subsequent 'penalty a match' phase. But we'll rid at that salary. You could get 2 Trotters for that !
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Split the difference and call it £20k then as well as the "nominal fee" gained we've saved £1 million in wages.jaffka wrote:that £17k if true was basic, there is a rumour that his basic was £24k
I feel reborn !!!! No more confussion
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
we might have 250k incoming.
A Bolton fan has made it to the final of the Sky competition where a fan wins 250k for their football league club. We have a 1 in 10 chance of being pulled out of the hat.
Draw takes place 10th July.

Which is probably more important to us than the outside possibility he might slot in as a CB.Riviman wrote:Split the difference and call it £20k then as well as the "nominal fee" gained we've saved £1 million in wages.jaffka wrote:that £17k if true was basic, there is a rumour that his basic was £24k

Is it Plymouth, trying to get the thread some semblance of respectability?

With Baptiste, he was on what he was on! Our budget isn't calculated by splitting the difference of fans' guesses!

That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Cahill and Ali Al Habsi went in the same window. Not sure who was first. Can it really be only three and half years ago?throwawayboltonian wrote:This must be the first transfer profit we've made since Cahill perhaps? Off the top of my head all the rest have either made a loss (e.g. Chungy) or gone on a free.
Nominal frequently means there's not so much a fee as that the 'buying' club covers the debts owed to the player - outstanding wages, laughable "loyalty" bonuses, etc - all the clauses a club agrees to when it's doe-eyed and in love.
Re: If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!
Marc Iles has just tweeted that a Spanish trials John Ceberio is starting for us v Atherton cols today. Anyone heard of the bloke??
