coz its in a stupid place, imo.FD wrote:
I don't think you NEED one but it'd make playing it much easier and probably more enjoyable. Depends how much you are into the genre, but the 360 pad is notorious for having a poor d-pad.
just use the swoopy analogue stick on the pad, even though the 'digital' dpad is better for fight games.

Aye was gonna ask (not being a fan of fight games) why you can't use the analogue stick?a1 wrote:coz its in a stupid place, imo.FD wrote:

Yeah not very long, to be fair I haven't given it much chance.
The problem is I was playing GoW around the same time, which is my kind of action. Run, shoot up some bad guns, run, shoot up some bad guys and so on.
With Far Cry you have to get in a car, drive about a bit until you find somewhere and then figure out what to do. It just seemed slow compared to GoW.
If anybody wants to do a swap I'd be up for it btw.

picked up Condemed 2 t'other night for a tenner, not played it yet. borrowed Fallout 3 and Dead Space off my brother. Lost & the Damned out today and Streetfighter out on friday, also downloaded the new Knothole Island dlc for Fable 2! busy busy!!!
gave Fallout a couple of hours last night after it cleaned up in 360 magazine's awards last month. tbh, cant really see what all the fuss is about, hopefully it will get better soon otherwise ill be sacking it off what with the above queue of games in the pipeline.

Aye Far Cry takes the patience. Its not instant action. I like instant action to but as I get older I do seem to be enjoying the "shooters" where you need to think as well. I like the way you plan your approach in Far Cry, deciding which weapons to take, how to approach the target, what time of day to do it, etc etc. Only annoying bit is the "checkpoints" where you have to take out the same 4 soldiers everytime you drive past a certain point. Whilst I appreciate without bits in between the missions the game would have seemed empty I think there are far too many static checkpoints and having them re-spawn every 5 minutes is annoying in the extreme. Perhaps a less frequent and more random encounter with enemy soldiers would have been better!keveh wrote:Yeah not very long, to be fair I haven't given it much chance.

I am one of the few who never really got into GOW so I guess it takes all sorts!

Because its a pad designed for the countless FPS games that have since come out, the stick is too floaty in my opinion for fighting games.BWFC_Insane wrote:Aye was gonna ask (not being a fan of fight games) why you can't use the analogue stick?a1 wrote:coz its in a stupid place, imo.FD wrote:

im not sure what you mean by steam dl's but Condemned 2 is a bought game i picked up off the pre-owned shelf the other day because it was only a tenner.
Lost & the Damned is a new downloadable episode of GTA 4 - you still need your actual game in the machine, and its still set in Liberty City - its just a new storyline with new characters etc. pretty amazing really! and if im not mistaken - exclusive to the 360! you DL it from xbox live marketplace.

It would appear I have got confused with you earlier mentioning a game download at 20%General Mannerheim wrote:im not sure what you mean by steam dl's but Condemned 2 is a bought game i picked up off the pre-owned shelf the other day because it was only a tenner.

What I meant was here:
http://store.steampowered.com/about/
but I now realise its just for PC games.

Lost & the Damned is brilliant fun, its great to be back in Liberty - even more so since ive been to NY since i finished the original GTA IV, and now i can appreciate how accurate and detailed the map is!
I love how this story entwines with the old story of Niko Belic, you even cross paths with him a few times, and you remember some his old missions as they have an effect on you now, like when you get Niko to kill the biker whos seeing the Russian guys daughter - that biker is a Lost MC friend of Johnny's! - still to see what the outcome of that will be.
Ricky Gervais has finished his stint at the split sides club, replaced now by Fankie Boyle!!!
Still amazed by how all this works tho, apparentlyL&tD is a third of the length of the original! blimey! im guessing this content was already on the disc somewhere, and the download just unlocks it somehow?

iirc -its 3 gig. iirc only about 7 of the 9 are usuable on a xbox disc. 3gig x 3rd is 9, if owt the DLC is too big, off the numbers you just give.General Mannerheim wrote:Lost & the Damned is brilliant fun, its great to be back in Liberty - even more so since ive been to NY since i finished the original GTA IV, and now i can appreciate how accurate and detailed the map is!

plus it'll use a lot of the same sprites/backgrounds/music/etc. if parts of it were already on the disc i'm sure some hacking types wouldve found evidence.
imo , it should be 'smaller' gigabyte wise.
not that it matters.
