It was fantastic to hear him speak so positively about our club, he was Cleary touched when he walked onto the pitch.

I like him, he is not the best footballer, but whatever he is asked to do (i.e. man mark Gerard) he does and he puts the effort in.

Anyone else think it was refreshing as well to see his fiance getting into the match as much as she did?

All you ever see and hear about is the so called WAG culture in football and the Coleen Rooney's of the world who really couldn't give a feck about anything other than getting their mugs in the paper the next day. Therefore to see someone like Shauna in the directors area clapping along with some of the chants and feeling the misses as much as any of us made a really nice and genuine change. Can't think what it was like for her going through all of this as well as Fab himself. Overall they all seem a really decent family and good set of people.

I arrived last evening rather early so went for a wander & round by the main entrance saw a mob of people so, what do you do when you see that ? I joined it.

With the camera's & press there too it was obvious that they were preparing for the Moo's arrival. After about 10m a bit of shuffling occurred by the security & meeja & then a white mini-bus drew up. I got a great feeling of almost childlike anticipation as a few people exited the bus (it seems he has an 'entourage' now, maybe he always did or maybe some were the media company he's signed to) & then from the rear came the man himself. He is, it's clear, a naturally shy person. He smiled, waved a tiny bit as he covered to 20 yards or so at serious pace ... & was was gone. All in about 5 seconds.

I admit to small sense of disappointment as it took so short a time. Even a slightly slower pace would have given people chance to take in the moment a little better. Then I grew up & thought of what pressure he is & has been under & how wonderful it was he was there at all. He has to deal with all this in any way which best suits him.

Certainly, again, on the pitch he was simply overwhelmed and while in my dreams I had him making a small speech if that's not him, it isn't.

He's taken a bit mental step to return. His face when we equalised was a picture & if he was later to be disappointed the much used phrase that "this puts football into perspective" was, once again, proven last night.

I've just watched that .... blimey. Is it right that a guy in his 50's just sat at his desk with eye's welling up ?

Watching that I appreciate why he could have done no more than he did. That took a lot of courage & he's tucked that one away now & can continue to move on.
