Rednapp to Toon?
Harry fav for the job. Surely he can't leave Pompey for them? I hope he does, probably my least favourite manager after Souness, so be delighted to see him screw up his chance with a "big" club like FSA.

Can't see it myself, but then again I don't believe they've sacked Allardyce all of a sudden for no reason.fatshaft wrote:Harry fav for the job. Surely he can't leave Pompey for them? He was doing a press conference at 2.30pm talking about targets and who isn't for sale, no sign of it, then by 5.30pm he's a gonner.
I think they must have someone lined up, and the NE press were reporting a comment from Mort saying sommat along the lines of they're after a British manager, they know who it is and they have to go through the right channels to approach him. Which suggests its someone at another club who is British.

I suspect it'd be Mark Hughes, from the pretty limited range there is.BWFC_Insane wrote:fatshaft wrote:I think they must have someone lined up, and the NE press were reporting a comment from Mort saying sommat along the lines of they're after a British manager, they know who it is and they have to go through the right channels to approach him. Meanwhile, Rednapp ?? He'd last just about as long as BFSA did.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I hope Redknapp goes to the Toon and gets shown up for the used car salesman he is.
For my mind it would be 2 for the price of 1 - 2 reputations ruined(Redknapp and 'The Greatest Fans in The World'), both of whom are Tabloid heroes, both don't deserve to be.
The truth will out!

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Oh God. They are usually rapidly followed by the " ... my mates an Estate Agent and today ..." ones.fatshaft wrote:Heard on Radio 1 news this morning: Text from listener - "Mourinho spotted in Tyneside hotel."bobo the clown wrote:I suspect it'd be Mark Hughes, from the pretty limited range there is.BWFC_Insane wrote:I think they must have someone lined up, and the NE press were reporting a comment from Mort saying sommat along the lines of they're after a British manager, they know who it is and they have to go through the right channels to approach him. Suprised they are not after McClaren, if they want to keep sinking to new lows

In theory ... ex-England Manager, won a cup, been to European Trophy final.Bwfcraig wrote:Suprised they are not after McClaren, if they want to keep sinking to new lows
In practice ... I'd need oxygen and fresh underwear, I'd be laughing that much.

I'm with HRG. Can't be easy to keep tempting players to that half-full sh!t-hole (and yes I know we're fine ones to talk...) and he'll have half an eye on the next move (to another, regularly full sh!t-hole in Salford)Worthy4England wrote:you think he'd be that stupid? To be a successful manager at Newcastle, you need to:
1. Arrive and become an instant success
2. Play entertaining, all out attacking football
3. Win a cup within six months
4. Claim that Newcastle supporters are the very best in the world, every week! Especially that fat bloke without his top off and tits out!
5. Qualify for the champions league between getting out of his car on the first day, and reaching his office.
So, unless Newcastle's next manager is 'Bruce Rioja', they are going to be in for another shitty season. Because unless it is a fictional character, they are back that square with a number one on it. You know, the one Liverpool and Newcastle and West Ham fans share yearly.
