Anyone else hurting??
Help me! I know I'm no music snob, I think Gary Barlow is a musical genius, seen Westlife in concert and want to be Kylie when I grow up... but having uncharitable thoughts about the forthcoming charity single for the disaster in Hiati. please tell me to get over myself.
As most people probably know, it will be a cover of REM's song "Everybody Hurts" I am sure that it will raise lots of money to support survivors of the Haiti earthquake, which is undoubtedly an excellent thing.
However I am already feeling queasy at the thought of all the celebs turning the tears up whilst pitching up with, look at me helping the poor and unfortunate with my considerable talent whilst boosting my own profile intercut with slow-mo footage from the scene of the disaster.
I have already donated, but would consider donating rather more than I can afford if someone could arrange for this NOT to be released so I don't have to watch anyone clutching their headphones and wailing "huuuuurts!"
Everybody hurts? You don't say

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Bit of Starship would have been the correct choice for a rebuilding programme based on funds from music:

Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.
