Transport to the Reebok?

Transport to the Reebok?

Post by Diamond Matt » Sat Oct 16, 2010 8:38 pm

Hi,

I will be attending Bolton v Liverpool on Sunday 31st in the Press Area - as I'm currently at University studying Sports Journalism.

Will be getting the train to Bolton. I notice on the official website there is a matchday bus that runs. With this being a 4pm kick-off I think this means I would get to the ground at 3.15? Or do they run earlier? I reckon I will have to get to the ground by around 3pm so a bit late for me.
The timetable didn't help me too much, as without knowing the area, I couldn't locate any stops near to the station?

Would anyone be able to advise on if there is a bus service that I would be able to get, or whether a taxi is the way forward, and how much that is likely to be?

Thanks.

ps - I am also looking at completing an article on Matchday Programmes. Does the club shop sell old programmes? :)

Check the trains - Horwich Parkway is the station you want.

The Commercial Dept, not the Club Shop, has back issues of this season's programmes home and away but none older than that.
There were plenty programmes from Bolton's pre season matches at Toronto and Charleston Battery in stock before todays match. They may be two unusual ones to feature in your article.

Have him look it up himself.

Fecking students. Want spoon-feeding.

... & tell him to get a wash.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Thanks Athers and AftonCooper :)

My course is on Sports Journalism, not train stations of the North West. I'm from Northamptonshire, so was looking for some local knowledge, which was much appreciated :)

Well, why didn't you say so? You could have asked one of the White Army's Northamptonshire foot soldiers! Me!

Having said that, Horwich Parkway wasn't built when I moved away from Bolton, so I'll be bloody useless. :D
