Lack of urinal cakes at the reebok ???

I think you're on to something with this though. The toilets are usually spotless - barring the odd dirty smoker of course, but the addition of the cakes would be a nice aesthetic touch to an otherwise bland vista.

One abiding change from the old Burnden to the new Reebok, even over 10 years on, are the bogs. Doors still on, paer in the traps .... & on the wall, not all stuffed down the pan, warm water, soap, towels & dries.

It is a contant reminder of moving on.

I'd not noticed the blocks missing. I initially thought that maybe the General's made may have taken them, though not the case it seems.

I know we've said it before but anyone bemoaning the loss of the old Palace of Pain needs to recall the bogs if they are old enough to have ever been to them.

So very true Bobo. The drainpipe urinals and in general, the wonderfully Victorian toilet systems, the leaking stand roofs, the cricket-style scoreboard with metal plates on hooks, the ghostly flloodlights, the tin-pot tannoy system, the freezing emankment, the open gates half-an-hour from the end, the waft of greasy hotdogs and Woodbines, the rain, trying to see what as happening through the fog and hail, a Sherwood forest of black umbrellas, the rattles, the chicken-wirefan seperators and the ink-on-your-fingers Green Finals and Buffs with match commentary by The Tramp....all seem a million years ago now, against the glories of the modern Reebok. Things of the past and almost dark-age in their being.....but I wouldn't have missed a minute of any of it.

Speaking of crap toilets....
Hawthorns a few years ago....still haunts me now. Having to jump over a puddle of sick to get in about 2 blocked urinals and two cubicals worse than Bolton station. Made Goodison look palatial.
