Quick question, but why did they need to operate to check the screws? Mine are in for life. If they ever need to check them, trust me they show up fairly well on an x-ray.

I thought he was good to go before last season ended but we (sensibly) didn't risk him as we were safe.

.... it's rather late to be discovering this. Thank God for our revamped, soopa-doopa medical team. Next .... learn how to run again ?

Perhaps to see if there is any unwanted movement in them? Presumably he is/was in some sort of unexpected discomfort.

That may be true of pins, but screws are a different ball game. I can never have the same break twice they are so strong.

If I had to guess I would think Tierney has felt some discomfort or localised pain after stepping up his training. Could be cautionary or some other underlying problem. They certainly haven't done it for nothing.

Perhaps after Holden's breakdown(s) they didn't want to take any chances.

Hmmm. I thought screws could sometimes start to back out, if that makes sense?
