Re: It's all warming up at the Greenhous - Shrewsbury (A) 25/03/17
Player ratings according to Bolton News. Any comments from the matchgoers?
BEN ALNWICK…7 One nervous first-half moment but made some decent saves before being forced off the pitch with a bad knee injury.
DORIAN DERVITE…8.5 Composed and solid as a rock. One of the Frenchman’s best displays in a Wandererers shirt and further evidence he’s finishing this season strongly.
DAVID WHEATER…8 Shrewsbury played into his hands every time they put the ball up into the air. Mopped up most of the danger without any problems.
MARK BEEVERS…8 Got yet another goal on the road and brimming with confidence every time he sets foot in either penalty area.
FILIPE MORAIS…8 Enjoying a quite ridiculous purple patch at the moment. Consistent delivery, trusted by his strikers, and a high work rate. What a bit of business.
JOSH VELA…7 Unable to get forward as much as he would like as Shrewsbury went man to man but certainly got about the pitch with his usual energy.
DERIK OSEDE…7 In for Spearing and didn’t waste his chance. Hassled out of the game a little early on but grew into the occasion.
DARREN PRATLEY…7.5 Continues to defy medical convention. Yet to drop a single point this season as part of a Wanderers team. Instrumental.
ANDY TAYLOR…7 Worked hard up and down the left and picked up a few bumps and bruises before being forced off with a calf injury.
GARY MADINE…6 Looked to be having problems very early on, which restricted his movement. Hopefully took his leave of absence before major injury occurred.
ADAM LE FONDRE…7.5 Got his goal and kept the fans bubbling – but the effort he is putting in for the side at the moment is first class too.
Subs: Long 7.5, 30 (for Madine) – His pace was always a threat.
Moxey 7, 64 (for Taylor) – Extremely solid, closed the game out.
Howard 6, 69 (for Alnwick) – Hardly troubled at all.

From B.N. "Ben Alnwick (knee ligaments) and Andy Taylor (calf) were both described as “more serious” injuries after the game by Parkinson, but Gary Madine also hobbled off in the first half with a groin problem."
How serious there's no further news yet.

The first half was really scrappy and a poor game, bit like sunday league stuff. The second half we started better and by the time the second goal went in we frustrated Shrewbury...although we did look tired we were still too strong for them.
Alnwick - 7 did ok and produced one excellent save, unfortunately had to go off in the 2nd half
Dervite - 8 I thought he was excellent. I never liked him in the past but he's come in to his own in the back 3
Beevers - 8 Mr Magic Hat Man Himself! He was great and I loved his celebration when he went into the crowd
Wheater - 8 solid as a rock
Taylor - 7 He seemed to struggle a bit 1st half, but still defended well. Was hobbling badly at the end when he came over to the fans
Morais - 8.5 He was excellent again. 2 assists and just got everywhere
Pratley - 8 Did all the running and battling in midfield, brilliant
Vela - 7 Had a quiet game, although still worked hard
Osede - 7.5 Did ok, worked hard like Vela, but didn't shine
Le Fondre - 8 Worked hard and got what he deserved....a goal (I can't say no wrong about him, he's my favourite player
Madine - 7 He struggled early on in the 1st half, when he got clattered and after that could hardly move
Subs, Moxey - 6 didn't really do anything wrong when he replaced Taylor, Howard the same, wasnt tested, Chris Long worked well with Le Fondre when he came on
By the way at the end Madine came over to the fans and gave a shirt he must have promised a fan....nice touch

Howard has proved to be a good keeper. He's had a couple of games back in before he was dropped, since then hopefully he's played reserve games and got some more training in. He's also coming into a winning team with 2 in-form monsters in front of him. Sorry for Alnwick who has done well but I'm not concerned about this.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sun Mar 26, 2017 1:52 pmThink Alnwick is the biggest loss at this stage potentially. Both are good shot stoppers, but Alnwick has proven very good in the air on set pieces in recent weeks. Will be a miss and brining a keeper in from the cold at this stage far from ideal.
I mean Moxey is a weak link but one might argue he is marginally more suited to wing back at least going forward than Taylor is.
As an aside watching the Scunny Bradford game, Scunthorpe look awful. Can't defend set pieces. Which is something to note for a couple of weeks time .
Will be reet!

Fingers crossed. Sounds like Alnwick and Taylor are bad ones.

Not much of an update, but hope they're all fine for the run-in - Especially Taylor, who's got to be a shout for POTY

Aye, Taylor or Wheater head and shoulders above the rest for me.
Vela and Beevers fighting it out for 3rd place.
