In other transfer news apparently AC Milan are about to pay Wigan £10m for old Antoneeeeeee Robinson.

Looks like Wolves striker Benny Ashley Seal is going to Accy instead of us.
70 minutes left to register someone for tomorrow.

Talk of Omar Beckles joining from Shrewsbury. Saw him play one of his first games for Accy a few years back after they'd signed him from non-league. He was outstanding. Anyway, being as we'd sponsored the game I got to pick the motm and award it to him at the end. I thought he was going to burst into tears. Genuinely appreciative, lovely fella, good defender. What's not to like?

I think there's been a comms breakdown, Hill said to Kenyon that need needed players who were hungry and KEEN!Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 1:49 pmCONFIRMED: We are delighted to announce the signing of Kean Bryan on loan from Premier League side Sheffield United until the end of the season.
(Potters off to find out who the feck he is )
On another note - Sheff Utd's new £22m signing has described it as a dream come true - has he ever fcuking seen Sheffield?!?!?!

Bridcutt and Clough doing the rumours with Marc Iles.
Reckons 1 might be permanent.

I imagine of the two that'd be Zach . If not, fair f*cks to somebody's powers of persuasion! (Could be Bridders till the end of the season I suppose).
Obvs struggled since he went away but he was excellent last time we were in League 1, if we can get him right he'd be great for next season.
Thought Hill had signed him (and then not really played him) at Dale though?

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Think Zach had some injury niggles at Dale. I'd like him to return, not just sentimentally but constructively: we need more creators and at his best he can see runs and passes. Keith Hill seems to know a forward when he sees one.
However, Zach's got 18 months on his contract. So unless it's a loan, it would take an extraordinary amount of contractual largesse from Forest, him or both. That's much more likely with Bridcutt, if he doesn't get a better offer in the next few hours.

See, I said back int' day and I still maintain that whoever came in for either Clough or Vela should've taken them as a pair as they brought the best out of each other. How's Vela getting on at Easter Road?

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Shame about Benny Ashley-Seal. He would've been ideal for us imho. A pacy forward player who can take some of the goalsoring burden from Murphy. I hope we now get Clough for the same reason.
If the Beckles story is accurate, not sure why we are after more central defenders? Hobbs, Nsiala, Bryan, Edwards, Zouma, Brockbank is surely enough for 19 more games?

He's left for Gay Meadow. They could play against each other soon.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:42 pmSee, I said back int' day and I still maintain that whoever came in for either Clough or Vela should've taken them as a pair as they brought the best out of each other. We want to try them all out at left-back!bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:46 pmShame about Benny Ashley-Seal. He would've been ideal for us imho. A pacy forward player who can take some of the goalsoring burden from Murphy. I hope we now get Clough for the same reason.

Iles seems to be imagining that it's Bridcutt, a couple of mins back - said he'd had confirmation from Club.Prufrock wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:17 pmI imagine of the two that'd be Zach . If not, fair f*cks to somebody's powers of persuasion! (Could be Bridders till the end of the season I suppose).

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Started nine of the first 10 league games under Paul Heckingbottom, who signed him. Sadly they only won one of those 10 games and Heckingbottom was sacked. He hasn't even been in a matchday squad since, either under the caretaker or new boss Jack Ross.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 2:02 pmOh, so that went well then?!LeverEnd wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:58 pmHe's left for Gay Meadow. Had we had a pot to piss in he might have been back here - a perfect example of picking up unwanted players who can do a job. So it goes.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
I don't get the Beckles story at all, although Iles seems convinced we've asked. Yes his contract is elapsing but he's been a regular starter so I don't understand why Shrews would let him go - it's not like we can pay a transfer fee. And if we loaned him (again, why would they allow it?) it would mean we've used three of our five loans on centre-backs.bristol_Wanderer3 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 31, 2020 1:46 pmIf the Beckles story is accurate, not sure why we are after more central defenders? Speaking of loans, I imagine Hill is trying to palm off Zouma, Brockbank and possibly Edwards to get playing experience and clear squad spaces - but at some point it becomes a risk that we won't get players in.
