Thomason is a huge weak link. Quite literally he’s blown over by a light breeze.

Well, that wasn't brilliant but we'd all take a not-brilliant halftime lead, for now at least.
LOL that Delf drove through the middle and assisted a moment after Steve Eyre said he's not that kind of player but I kind of know what he means: Delf is more of a driving runner than a knitter-togetherer. Either way, he must still be in line for a hooking on the hour to see what Maddison can do.
As advertised, Morecambe sit deep and don't show much, quite Parkinsonian really, so it'll be intriguing to see what they do now. If they don't try to come forward that's fine, we've got three more attackers to ask questions. If they do, Maddison and the pacy Elbo/Dapo might catch them on the break. As Morecambe abandon their low block the spaces will also be there for MJ and Tomo (or for that matter Tutte) to pass into.
Obviously this being us it's absolutely nowhere near finished but you'd hope that we can now kick on.

I think at 0-0 I’d have said they were the better side. Now they have to come out of their shell second half so there should be some gaps to exploit. We should win from this position.
Whilst I think condemning Thomason to the non league is harsh we’d be a lot better with the more dynamic Lee playing tonight. MJ has been fine, he’s a defensive mid who can play it neatly enough. That number 8 for them is a real strong player in midfield - rate him. I’d be bringing Tutte on for Thomason to mix it up a bit. Jacksons not had a great game either so think we will se John.

Was always going to take something special as I reckon they look resolute when they drop deep. This is why it pisses me off all the more though when we deliver poor corners and crosses - they're our true opportunity to get the ball in behind. It could / should / is much easier than having to rely on something special.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:49 pmThe goal was sublime. Went through them like a knife through butter.

Yes, not expecting sudden brilliance with new signings ripping it up, but any kind of win now is very important to maintain an upward curve.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:51 pm

We halted crossing opportunity by inverting wingers. No idea what that was about.
Salford 4-1 up against cambridge, so maybe missing Saturday wasn’t a bad one!

I think John and Maddison will definitely appear. Keep forgetting we've still got three more. I'd also swap Thomason for Tutte. Might be ok off the bench at the moment but he's not up to it yet.

I'm trying to work out how he knows where he's running, as his head is usually facing his feet.

Not saying it's a tight division or anything but as it stands right now, we're moving up 6 places to 14th

He obviously has a good technique but what I mean is he needs to toughen up and become far stronger. Some non league experience might help there.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:54 pmI think at 0-0 I’d have said they were the better side. Arthur's starting to liven up, which is nice

Arthur has really brought a different dimension to the team - if he weren't on the pitch we'd have zero penetration.

MJ looks like a red card waiting to happen.

I thought at 0-0 that we were the better side but looked less likely to score. Seems that we were lacking that cutting edge or desire to give away possession. There's definitely something to be said about making use of the possession we've had. There's nothing to suggest that Morecambe was a threat in that first half and likewise for Bolton.officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 7:54 pmI think at 0-0 I’d have said they were the better side. Looks like a solid possession based game we are playing.
As for Thomason, I like him, he seems energetic and got a nice close control. Has never given me the impression that he's phoning in his performance.

Williams is decent. Need someone better on the ball next to him but he's snuffed a lot out. (Looked like a foul, mind.)
