Playing with the wind second half, guaranteed Maddison tries to score from 40 yards.

The deliveries from corner kicks has improved tenfold.

I see Gnahoua coming on for Afolayan. Seems like a like-for-like sub.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:43 pmHe’s trying to make Hollywood passes all the time. Overall it’s obvious he’s potentially a good player but harsh to have left Gnahoua out based on first 45...Mar wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:41 pmHe's had that one shot early on which if it was on target we'd been saying something quite different. For me he's looked lively and tried a lot of forward balls which haven't yet come off. I suspect he's gonna be frustrating but possibly the only one whose likely to unlock defences with Eoin Doyle.
What's the consensus on Delfouneso? Again he's looking quiet for me but I don't know whether that's just because he's doing the link up play.

How did Delf get away with that

John looks good.
Dapo looked good for 10 minutes
Maddison not looked good.
MJ Williams looks better than TG suggests
Not sure HMS is awaiting the champagne bottle to be named "Pisstheleague"

I think I'm expecting something else from MJ than a few of you. I think he's sitting in the Warhurst/Campo position well and breaking stuff up quite nicely.

Yeah I think he's been fine (and was on Tuesday). A bit ropey on the ball and looks ungainly but he's there to make us solid. Thomason can use it (and did nicely a few times)
Overall, a really good first 20 then they decided that trying to tackle us or run at us might be good and yeah...we struggled with that

Probably the most enjoyable half of football since some of the early performances under Hill. We're almost chaotically good, dangerous going forward - one-touch control, first time, direct passing, movement - but defensively as vulnerable as ever. John and Afolayan look real talents.
I would also argue that Stevenage have been better than ackowledged, though.

I think he’s absolutely fine. A bit awkward on the ball at times but protecting the back four better than owt else we’ve got has done this season for me.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:51 pmI think I'm expecting something else from MJ then a few of you. Agreed with all of this... MJ has given the ball away a couple of times but he’s been far from shit. I can see exactly why Evatt signed him, always looking to be open for a pass and always looking to be progressive in moving the team up the pitch. I’d say he lacks the nous when to find row Z with it. Certainly not writing him off.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:51 pmJohn looks good.

Dapo I’m guessing was told to stop wandering. I’d suggest he should communicate with Delf and when he wants to go, make sure Delf has an eye on the right back. Would rather Doyle wasn’t wasting energy chasing after him.
Maddison is trying too hard but he’s all Hollywood ball and it’s ruined promising attacks a couple of times. He’s also miles away from Jones who isn’t having a great game.
John is superb. Looks too good for this league.
I’d like to see more from Delf but I type that every game. He’s a hard worker and that’s pretty essential with the other two in the team.

Aye chaotic- that’s a great description of it. Be a real shame if we don’t score a couple more. I can see them getting one.nicholaldo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:54 pmProbably the most enjoyable half of football since some of the early performances under Hill. I’ve taken against him, perhaps too hastily, but I think positionally he’s all over the shop and his timing is also poor. He made one good interception to release Delf and another in their box to win it for Doyle, but overall I’d think we’d look a lot more solid with Tutte in there.Prufrock wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:53 pmYeah I think he's been fine (and was on Tuesday). Game of opinions isn’t it. MJ for me has done ok. Given it away once or twice when he shouldn’t have. But generally looks to occupy space. A different sort of midfield player.The_Gun wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 3:59 pmI’ve taken against him, perhaps too hastily, but I think positionally he’s all over the shop and his timing is also poor. Also think Jones is a better full back than young Harry. And quite noticeably so IMO.

I think Stevenage's half-time instructions will be quite straightforward. 'You'll get nowt by going through the middle so get it out to Newton. When you get it, Newton, run at Gethin Jones - he'll shit his shorts, then get your cross in. Forwards and centre mids - get in the box'.
